We do a lot of travelling and this is are most disappointing hotel yet! Paid for a upgraded larger double room, received room key opened door to find the smallest double in the world!!! Had to be in Guinness world record book. The bedroom door had been cut at an angle to pass the toilet door, they both hit the bed too,so u couldn't get out of room if stood in wrong place.found dirty wet towel in sink on arrival, broken leg on table, electrical socket with no fascia too it,window had to be propt open with the hotel sign as sash window broken n heating goin non stop,as heatin on thought would make a drink to find two cups on table but nothing to put in them?? Asked for room change straight away but with no joy, told no drinking facilities in room but can buy a coffee from reception.no place to store clothes in room just coat hanger! Four day city break, paid extra so wasn't cheap, would of sooner spent 20quid a night n slept on floor at a crowded hostel if I knew where one was, shame as Amsterdam a great place, had good time n tried not too let our so called hotel spoil it.please spend ur hard earned cash elsewhere,

My actual travel dates were May 2011 and all I can say is avoid this place at all costs. The staff weren't helpful, don't think they really care( more interested in smoking right at the front door, I almost had to walk around a member of staff smoking to get in, not professional) The lift was broken, the hallways were dark and dingy with old mattress's and junk dumped down corridors ( don't know if they were renovating rooms but still not acceptable) My room was right at the top, at first it seemed ok but looking closer there were a few dead bugs under the bed and a bit dusty. Then on the second night a millipede ran across my pillow and bed (hate bugs), freaked me out. Not a nice place at all, will not be returning and I advise everyone to do the same.

Hotel in great location and round the corner from shops, bars and restaurants. Great access to trams to travel around the city...
Hotel itself is clean and tidy, staff helpful and polite. Nothing special just an easy place to stay and commute from when in the Dam. Rooms quite basic and small. Stairs obviously very steep and difficult to climb if lift doesn't work ( at times breaks ).
Hotel overlooks the canal and nice to see the boats pass... quite quiet to stay and no disturbances of a night.

Room Tip: get a room to over look the canal instead of at the back of the hotel looking at a wall :)

Poor. Avoid rooms below ground floor, small and stank like a fungus or sewer. the sprayed the room and hallway every day with toilet refresher and the hall and staircase stank marihuana each day. Dont pay 10 Euro for breakfast. Better to take a walk and buy it somewhere else. The location is great as the 197 bus from/to the AirPort drops just 2 min. Walk from the hotel. Same for tram 1,2 and 5 to central station and centrum.

The hotel was ok for the price. I have seen worse hotels that are more expensive. My wife and I stayed in a double room. The walls are paper thin since I could hear every twist and turn my neighbors made on their bed next door and the curtains were very thin. The rooms were a bit dilapidated but it was clean and basic. On the plus side the heating worked, the mattress was ok and the sheets were clean.

A very friendly, nice and clean hotel.
Near the center of everything.
Next to the busstop from the airport.
The staff was very proffessionell.
If I've to reccomend a hotel in Amsterdam,
I would gladly reccomend this.
