On arrival the hotel has a modern and clean feel and indeed the rooms are clean and well appointed. Unfortunately our stay did not include a decent night's sleep as from 3.15 am we were woken by the receptionist having a conversation in full voice for 30 mins. By 4 am we were then treated to various pipes and machines making noise and the receptionist then deciding to lay the cutlery for the breakfast room. At 5 am the room above then decided to commence a family olympics with people running the length of their room for the next 3 hours together with much banging. It is a real shame as the hotel has great potential but the owners obviously decided not to invest in soundproofing which at €160 per night is not good enough.

Room Tip: Ensure you are not allocated room 51

An excellent hotel in ten minute walk of Centraal Station. Very clean and quiet. Comfortable beds in a room overlooking the Canal. An entire wall of the room painted with a faux Rembrandt scene, a friendly touch to come home to! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, directing us to two excellent restaurants and advising us on how to get about in Amsterdam. Definitely our hotel of choice on a return visit.

Room Tip: Room on the Canal a must.

Decided to make it to Amsterdam for a day after watching the F1 Grand Prix in Belgium. Conveniently located on a quiet street off the main Dam Straat near the Centraal station. Location gets a tick from me. The rest was just OK. For 90 Euros a night I'd have expected more. Lot of options to eat/drink/smoke around within short walking distances

Nice little hotel in a very quiet area, very helpful staff. Everything is very clean. The hotel is very close to the railway station. There are restaurants and stores all in walking distance.

We stayed at the times hotel for a long weekend and it is just perfect for the short amount of time. It is very central and 2-3 mins walk to dam square but far enough away to be out of the tourist carnage.

It is on a very nice canal which can be busy with party boats going up and down every so often until around 1am, so you should expect some night time noise as with all central Amsterdam hotels.

The hotel reception and staff are very welcoming and friendly with everything you need. You can get coffee and complimentary pastries and sit in the dining area. We opted to not have breakfast but it was always busy in the morning and looked good. This coats about 10 euros per day per person.

We stayed on the top fifth floor which you access via a new lift for 4 floors and then up a small steep flight of stairs. The room was clean and tidy... A bit on the small side but if you are only using it as a base then it is fine. The bathrooms are modern and the whole place is very safe.
You have air conditioning in the rooms as well which is modern.

There is no hair dryers in the room, but reception will supply this for you if you ask.

We were attacked every night by relentless mosquitos that seemed to appear out of nowhere, even with everything closed to the outside world. They had a nasty bite to them, but they are common at this time of year, particularly next to water.

Apart from that, the stay was great and we would recommend it. Do not forget as in all Amsterdam hotels, that you will need to pay a city tax on your departure.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal facing room
