This hotel is located quite central in Amsterdam, just 15 min walk to Rembrandt square. The tram-station is just outside and it's 15 min to the RAI-conference center or 10 min to Dam-square/ the city center. The street Standhouderskate is one of the main roads circling the city center and this is obvious during the week days due to high and noisy traffic. The hotel has about 45 rooms, and my collegues and I got the three rooms on the ground floor, directly facing the lobby. which means, everybody passes by, taking the wooden stairs or the elevator - not to mention the breakfast room which is also just besides the lobby.
The room had a big window with a sliding door, which could be opened completely or shut, but nothing in between - quite advanturous during the night if you want to sleep with an open window, because the room once was the entry hall of the side building (both buildings were put togehter for the hotel), so it had stairs down to the road just outside the window: an open invitation during the night?! I thought they were kidding me. The other rooms hat "normal" windows.

The staff was friendly and helpful, the small room was really clean and furnished quite modern with LCD-TV and many international channels. The bathroom was about 1 sqm big, but had a big shower, but the WC was in a corner so that only people with short legs could sit there comfortably. The WIFI internet is bookable for 2 euro/30 min. in the lobby you also could use the PC for the same price.

The breakfast was simple, with 3 types of white bread or croissant, scrambled or boiled eggs, soft coffey, 3 types of tetrapak juices, 2 types of packed jam and peanut butter, cheese, ham, salami and some vegetables. single prize for 9 euro if you don't book it with the room.

in summary: the prices of 130 euro for a double and 100 for a single (beginning of july) are way too high. maybe the rooms in the upper floors facing backwards are alright but you also could get the rooms in the basement!

we found the hotel a good base to explore Amsterdam from although a little far out there was a tram stop at the end of the street the trams ran every 10 minutes so you never had to wait very long the rooms although basic were very clean with tea & coffee making facilities the bathroom was on the small side although again clean the breakfast room was bright and airy the food was plentiful the staff were polite we recommend you buy a 24/48hr travel pass that enables you to use the trams, buses and some boats unlimited for 7euro per day we found this good value, very efficiant and on time the train station from the hotel is approx 20mins.

We stayed in this hotel for one night only because the hotel we booked was overbooked and they transferred us to this hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful, as we have a toddler they sorted us out with a travel cot. The hotel is convenient to the Heineken museum and some very nice places to eat, so is quite central. A bit pricey for what you get in my opinion, but if you get a good deal then you wont be disappointed!

My wife and I were lucky to visit Amsterdam last week when it was very nice weather. And staying at this hotel made our trip perfect. It was very comfortable to sleep there, plus we got a room which was very quiet at night. The reception staff, no matter day shift or evening shift were very friendly and gave us a lot of information about city.

The hotel is very close to the museum district. Within 10 minutes on foot we reach the famous Van Gogh Museum as well as National Museum. The tram stop is in front of the hotel, from where we can get city center in less than 10 minutes.

The breakfast we had at the hotel was pretty like what we eat everyday at home, with more choices of corn flakes and jams.

I booked several weeks before arrival when the Hot Deal was still available, which made quality-price even higher.

We will definitely stay at this hotel again next time we visit Amsterdam and suggest it to our friends!

This place has a very nice breakfast but I will NEVER stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone. We found bedbugs in our bed in the morning.. after sleeping in it!
