Owner description: VISITING YAB YUM POSSIBLE AGAIN! The world famous and former brothel Yab Yum opens its doors to a wider audience. The well-known 17th-century building with the green lantern on the 'Singel' in Amsterdam has been transformed into a fascinating concept: YAB YUM Unlocked. Recently, the genuine YAB YUM feeling is brought back to life. YAB YUM Unlocked is a wonderful exhibition and a 'Real Life Club Experience' at the same time. YAB YUM Unlocked takes you back to the years during which YAB YUM was famous all over the world. How it all came about, who visited and why was the club so popular? You'll visit the luxurious bar and famous 'caviar room', you'll see how founder Theo Heuft ever got the idea and how the club became one of the biggest status symbols for straight arrows and hoodlums alike. It also takes you behind the scenes of this well-organized company, a booming enterprise with an annual turnover of millions.

We read about Yab Yum on the tours guide and thought it was interesting to go and see it. It turned out to be a great experience and an opening to a world not many know about from the inside but have heard of.

The staff is very friendly and are ready to answer any questions.

Whether you know about yab yum or want to I recommend it! I enjoyed it quite well. Great experience!!

If any one ask me to recommend him a thing to do in Amsterdam and it is only one thing i would definitely recommend this attraction to him\her, we were given a tour by the previous manger of this men club who were so passionate about it, it worth every penny i paid for it, moreover, you should understand this is not a museum it is more as untold story or as the hidden world or i may call it a prostitution house history -some people want like what i call it but it is the reality whatever they label it -, i would not recommend children to be in.

We happened upon Yab Yum which was really close to our hotel on the Singel Canal. It was pricey to get into at 15 Euros each and we really didn't know what to expect but we were really glad we went. We were given a personal tour by Mitch, who had been a manager when the club was in full swing. Its a fascinating story and a very glamorous place, but a world away from anything else we had ever experienced. Worth a visit and worth shelling out 2,500 Euros to hire out as a party venue perhaps ;o)

Whilst in Amsterdam we wanted to do something that had the true essence of Amsterdam and I came across Yab Yum, Amsterdams most notorious brothel. I didn't know what to expect when we walked in... It was fascinating. As the museum is so new it wasn't busy, just the 3 of us but that gave us the time to just wander around at our leisure listening to the fascinating story of the club, it's owner and of course the girls who worked there. To top the experience off, the Manager of the club was there and incredibly one of the girls who worked at Yab Yum which gave us a real insight in to what the place was like and some of the stories that comes with such a place. Having only closed in 2008 it does have a feel of sadness and longing about it - you can tell it was a sad time when Yab Yum closed but I highly recommend taking a step in to this garish, gold plated luxury and visit the Yab Yum club - you won't forget it!
