Beautifully architectural design, good concert hall for classic, modern and jazz-lovers, including a good restaurant and a restaurant-bar with a spectacular view on the Amsterdam harbour

This concert hall is an acoustical gem. It is versatile as a space, with three different ceiling sections that you can adjust in several different ways. The floor can be even to the stage or terraced. It's incredible as you can be assured you'll be enjoying whatever event at its optimum acoustic.

Restaurant is so-so.

My husband and I were staying in the Movenpick Hotel and thought we would while away a couple of hours on the deck outside the Muziekgebouw's restaurant on our last day, between checking out and waiting for our train to the airport.

The outside area is superb, with normal tables as well as large "sofas" (made of a sort of strong plastic I think) with big comfy cushions on them. The view over the water is spectacular and the whole atmosphere is very relaxing. Most of the menu (being a seafood resturant) looked somewhat pricey, but we each had an excellent omelette with tasty and fresh home made bread for only 8 euro, which we thought was very reasonable. We were so relaxed, we really didn't want to leave! Highly recommended for a lazy afternoon, especially if the sun is shining.
