We stayed here for a couple of nights last weekend and I cannot fault this place! The family who run this are so charming, helpful and really care about their clientele, which I don't think you get very often with the big corporate run hotel chains... Although the room was a little on the small side, it was clean and tidy and the hard bed did wonders for our backs! I want one!
The location is wonderful and only a few mins walk from the Leideseplein, from where you can jump on a bus straight to the airport for only 4euro! Get the 197 and you get a sightseeing tour thrown in!
I guess the only niggle is the noise of the lift in the morning, as the rooms are all close together near the lift, but dont let that put you off!
Would we stay again? DefInitely, and we're planning on returning very soon!

From the outside and reception area, we were a bit dubious, but the room was super clean and although small, quite comfortable. It was obviously newly decorated, and the bathroom was spotless. Quite a good location too, only a short walk from the Liedesplein, where there are lots of bars, shops, cafes etc, along with the Boom Chicago Comedy Club which was ace (all in English). It's also close to the Museumplein and there is a tram stop just round the corner.

We arrived here for two days. Loved this small, friendly hotel we were doing it on a budget and this place proved to be just the job. Trams are the easiest way to get about the city and theres stops outside.
The room was fine, clean cool and comfortable.
The buffet in the morning was good the bacon is hard but strangely memorable and on the second morning I decided I had to have seconds.
The Dutch are so helpful if you need to know where to go in the city anyone will do more than help.
Cheap and cheerful.

Close to Leidseplein, wide range of choices for restaurants and night life. Quiet and safe 10 minutes walking to Leidseplein. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had good rest.
We were there 4 days in October 2011, was the last 2nd stop of our honeymoon. We were happy to stay there and didn't ruin our vacation mood at all after 14 days Mediterranean cruise of Star Princess.
It is family operated business, they care each customer very much. Dennis and other staffs were very helpful and friendly.

Only spent a night in Amsterdam enroute to elsewhere in the Netherlands. Hotel not downtown (an advantage to us) but was easy to reach from Centraal Station via the tram system. Staff were very friendly and helpful with maps and instructions how to get to various sites. Hotel is narrow with scary steep stairs but you don't have to use them as there is an elevator for folks with a fear of heights. Room wasn't large but adequate and looked out into a courtyard area so was quiet at night. The hotel put on a very good breakfast buffet and were helpful in taking care of bags after we checked out and wanted to do some more looking around. Overall would recommend.

The key here is: reasonable price. Hotels are expensive in Amsterdam. I booked an appartment for 3 persons for 160€. The appartment, located on the opposite side of the street, was huge, the interior tasteful, only the beds a bit narrow. Excellent bathroom. Limited breakfast buffet but of very good quality. (Good coffee in Holland? Trust me...) Very friendly staff. Rather good location, close to museum quarter and Leidseplein but quite a distance from Central Station. Main disadvantage: no parking. So if you come here, either obey rule number one for traveling to Amsterdam by car (i.e.: DON'T) or don't fret about either paying 8€ an hour for parking, or driving half an hour to a car park and coming back by (slow) tram.

This is a great hotel for a reasonable price. The location was ideal, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk into the centre. The service was friendly and helpful although we were asked to pay when we checked in, so we did therefore ask to see the room beforehand which was lovely. We had also kindly been upgraded to a larger room which had all the mod cons, nicely decorated, comfy bed with a very good clean bathroom. Would recommend this hotel for those who want to stay in a peaceful area near the lovely Museum and Jordaan area.
