We had a fabulous experience with Misc Eatdrinksleep. My teenage son and I visited for three nights. We had a cosy room facing the canal, filled with homey touches like fresh flowers and fluffy white cotton robes. The room was immaculately clean. The rain shower very refreshing in the morning and after a long day of museum hopping.

Breakfast was amazing. Made to order eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, cereals, various juices, fresh bread and croissants. Very top shelf, and no need to eat again until late in the day. There is also a complimentary stocked mini fridge that my son ravaged each evening. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate was also available in the room. In addition, our flight left early on our last day, so Rachel put together an breakfast tray for us the night before.

Rachel and Pepijn were perfect hosts. Where else can you actually get a wake up call from the owners personally? They gave us great advice on transportation, sights, and places to eat.

The location is amazing. . It is central and an easy walk to all points of interest in Amsterdam. No need to use the subway or the tram really. I felt extremely safe! I went out walking alone most evenings and never had a hint of trouble.

Great trip, we will definitely go back. High speed internet was also included in the room

Room Tip: Garden view may be a little quieter

Reallly enjoyed our stay in this hotel, we were in the Design Room at the front of the htoel literally looking down onto the canal. The location is really central and perfect for sight seeing, we walked everywhere. The the service was very friendly and helpful from recommending restaurants to having a big stack of guidebooks available to browse.

Stayed for 3 nights in March 2011. We had the Baroque room at the back. It was really quite, day and night. The room had two windows on different walls which made it feel spacious, brigh and airy. Both the bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The beds and pillows really comfy. My wife suffers from insomnia but it was the first time she ever got 3 full nights sleep in a hotel. The fridge was restocked every day and had a selection of chocolate, soft drinks, beer, water, juice, and chips. The room also had a safe, Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes, multi-channel TV (with plenty of English speaking channels). The breakfast was excellent. There was a selection of juices, smoothies, cereal, bread, cheese, and cold meat.Everything was so fresh.Eggs and bacon were cooked to order. The area around the hotel felt safe as there was always plenty of people around the cafes and bars. A supermarket nearby was also convenient. The hotel is located less than 10 minutes walk to Dam Square, about 10-15 mins walk to Central Train Station, about 20-30 mins to Museumplein. You can also rent the hotels own bikes. The stairs in the hotel are quite steep but our bags were brought up for us while we checked in so that was great. I highly recommend this hotel I would definitely go back. I would definitely recommend this hotel for couples looking for something special.

Stayed here in March 2011 with my partner. Was really impressed with the hotel, really quirky and unique. Each room has a different design, ours was the 'design' room and was lovely. Immaculately clean, both bedroom and en-suite. You also get a free min-fridge which is stocked up everyday!
We had to check-out really early so the owners made sure we had breakfast in the room before we left, which was perfect.
Breakfast is so nice, and you can have pretty much whatever you like.
It is in an ideal location, walking distance from; cafes, bars, red light district, vintage shops, museums.
I can't wait to go again, highly recommended.

a birthday present from my boyfriend's parents for him and me, which is the only reason i marked down the 'value'. i don't know how much it cost but i know it was a bit pricey. but i'd expect a higher price if i received this level of comfort. the bed was like a big cloud (not a single disturbed sleep) and the fridge was stocked up every single day with apple juice, orange juice, chocolate bars and heineken. both the room itself and the en suite bathroom were spotless and nicely decorated. the location was great. felt like we were really in the centre. the place is a credit to rachel and pepijn, who made us breakfast, gave us a map and detailed directions and lent us a big golf umbrella!

My partner and I have just got back from a 4 night stay at Misc eatdrinksleep. When I first looked at hotels they generally did seem a little pricey compared to what you might get in the U.K, but this really is a lovely hotel! The owners are very welcoming and friendly and only too happy to advise what to do/see. Their cat, Pru, is also a very cute addition! We had a canal view room which had plenty of space and some quirky features.

I had read reviews where people had complained a bit about the noise- we were a little disturbed the first night, but this was a Saturday night and it didn't bother us as we realised if you want a central location then Amsterdam on a Saturday night isn't going to be quiet. Apparently the garden facing rooms are quieter, but it was really nice to look out over a canal so I think it is worth it! We slept fine, was just a bit noisy whilst trying to get to sleep. The rest of the stay was fine and we didn't hear a thing.

The location is excellent- Anne Frank house is 15 mins walk, Centraal Station 10 mins walk, Dam square 10 mins, Van Gogh museum half hr walk, Red light district 2 mins! We didn't use the trams at all as everything is within walkging distance! We hired bikes from the hotel, which was at a competitive price. Again, Rachel and Pepijn (the owners) were on hand to recommend bike routes and lend us maps. I would definitely recommend this as it was so fun to cycle round and see a big of the countryside!

I had also read a lot of breakfast in hotels in Amsterdam aren't included or a bit rubbish, but here they were delicious! Every morning we had a choice of cereal, fresh baked bread, a selection of Dutch cheeses, ham, homemade jam, eggs, bacon and croissant! Also as much coffee, tea and freshly squeezed orange as you like too! The rooms also had a free snack bar and were refilled every day!

When we visit Amsterdam again we will definitely stay here again it was truly excellent! I highly recommend staying at misc eatdrinksleep!

We wanted a central hotel that was a bit different and on the canal. Misc eatdrinksleep was perfect for us. Old, slightly faded, wonderfully lived-in and loved. We stayed on the very top floor with stunning views across the canal. For such a central situation it was very quiet. There was a white noise machine which was great if you find a city keeps you awake. Bed was oceanic and comfortable. Bathroom small but great shower and separate loo. Would have been nice to have a music system. You step out the door and there's everything a little walk away so it was perfect for us. Rachel was very friendly and could not have been more helpful, we got a lot of info via email before we left. Her husband was a little shyer with a sense of humour if you make an effort. Great breakfasts and we ordered a bottle of fizzy for our arrival and it was there in lots of ice all ready. We loved the Deco sauna, early 20th Century glamour and wonderful massage, loads of good restaurants and a real laid-back weekend, I'd definintely go and stay again.
