This lovely b&b is centrally located, within a few minutes walking distance of the train station. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. The central sitting areas were very comfortable and it was lovely to have a fridge ((stocked with free soft drinks and beer) and tea making facilities. However the reason for the high rating is really due to the host, Peter. On arrival Peter spent time talking us through our trip, what we wanted to see and do over our time. He gave us advice on the best times to see certian attractions, where to eat, and basically planned out our weekend to maximise our time in Amsterdam. Breakfast was amazing both mornings, homemade croissants one morning, and pancakes the next, along with fruit, cereal, toast, tea etc. There was no need for lunch after this lovely breakfast! I would definately stay here again if returning to Amsterdam! My advice is to book well in advance as the rooms seem to be much in demand!

Peter is a fabulous host who knows how to spoil his guests. His superb cooking, beautiful home, helpful tips and great sense of humor were very appreciated by myself. I cannot wait to return to see him and stay in one of the most stunning and peaceful neighborhoods in Amsterdam next summer.

Room Tip: The rooms are all wonderful, but guests must be able to climb a steep staircase to reach them.

We were attending a conference and stayed a couple extra days in Amsterdam. As our family was 5 adults and one infant we were looking for an apartment close to the city center. Boogard's 2 bedroom apartment definitely fit the bill. Although a sitdown breakfast was not included, the apartment kitchen was well stocked and ready to go for our own private breakfasts when we arrived. Peter checked us in himself and gave us a tour of the building and a history of the city and the Jordaan area.

Briefly, the apartment has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and an ensuite bathroom. The rooms are small but tastefully decorated. The kitchenette had a microwave, stove, refridgerator, diahwasher and coffee maker. This was all most people wil need. The common area between the bedrooms had a couch and two chairs with fresh flowers and a table with a laptop for guest use. The staircase up to the apartment is narrow and steep, but common for most in Amsterdam. Those with mobility issues may have trouble as there is no elevator.

Peter's welcoming and friendly personality immediately puts you at ease and enhances the charming surroundings. One drawback to the apartment is not being able to enjoy sitdown breakfast with Peter and the guests in the lovely breakfast room.

A nice touch was Peter's offer to do laundry for us, which was a generous and appreciated gesture. His helpful suggestions were also great for sightseeing. He also booked several restaurants for us that we were unable to do from home before we left.

Overall, Boogard's was an excellent choice and we have no hesitation in highly recommending it for a nice stay in Amsterdam. We would also suggest the smaller rooms for the full B&B experience.

This was our second visit to Amsterdam and we knew exactly where we wanted to stay. Returning to Boogaards was like coming home for a family visit. We recalled exactly how to get there, rang the bell, and there was Peter greeting us. His adorable dogs were there as well. It was early so our room was not ready. Peter had us leave our bags and they were brought up later. We told Peter where we wanted to go and of course he suggested a much better way to do it. Upon return, we had time to relax and chat with Peter. He and his partner have done a wonderful job of renovating this charming house. He even showed us the detail of his personal living quarter. The B&B is located on a quiet street a block from a canal and walking distance to everything. We never took public transport. It's a very easy walk to the train station as well. There is a common living room shared with another guest room. A mini kitchenette is stocked with alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, tea/coffee. Peter has an evening dessert waiting as well as other snacks. There are travel books, free wi-fi, even umbrellas should you need one. Rooms are very comfortable. We stayed in the Jack Russell room. One of the highlights is the delicious breakfasts that Peter prepares! You do have to be able to climb a steep staircase so if you have mobility concerns, a hotel might be a better choice. Boogaard's was our first B&B experience and I am so glad we chose it. Feel free to email Peter with any questions as he can be very helpful in planning your visit. Book with him directly. Peter and Tomas- we shall return again to enjoy your hospitality!

Room Tip: I like the Jack Russell room. It is a back room and very quiet.
