We booked Boogaard's based on Tripadvisor reviews and I must say we were not disappointed - the whole experience was beyond our best expectations! Our 5 night stay was a delight. Peter is a wonderful host, who goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great time in Amsterdam. His house is located in the centre of the city, close to Central Station and many of the attractions. Despite that, the street is very quiet. We stayed in one of the bedrooms on the second floor (Jack Room). We had a beautiful shared sitting room, coffee and tea facilities and our own en-suite bathroom. The house is tastefully decorated, with a lot of charming touches. It is a typical 400 year old dutch house, so be prepared for the steep stairs!!
Peter is a very good cook, so breakfast was allways special, with something different and delicious each morning. He set an amazingly beautiful table and chatted with us while we ate. Every evening, when we arrived, there was some delicious dessert waiting for us - a wonderful ending for a day of sightseeing in beautiful Amsterdam. To make the day perfect, Peter allways made dinner reservations for us (be sure not to miss Seasons, my favourite).
We can't thank enough to Peter and his family (Tomaz, Pepe and Curly) for making our time so special. We will definitely come back.

Room Tip: Jack room is located in the back of the house, Pug in the front. Both rooms are beautiful - You will...

We spent three wonderful days touring Amsterdam using Peter Boogaard's apartment as our base. The apartment was tastefully furnished with a very pleasant common area and two separate bedrooms. Each bedroom contained its own bathroom, which afforded each couple a degree of privacy. Peter went to extreme length to provide a variety of comfortable pillows and bedding for the weary traveler. The kitchen area was well stocked with soft drinks, beer, eggs, and other assorted breakfast items. Peter also provided wine and frosted chocolate brownies to mark our arrival in Amsterdam. While the B and B is located on a quiet street, it is centrally located to the central train station, the fashionable Jordan district, and many other attractions. While public transportation is nearby, we were able to walk to most locations.

Peter was a knowledgeable host, providing updates and advice on Amsterdam's many attractions, and making dinner reservations at memorable area restaurants. We greatly appreciated the directions he provided for reaching the B and B from the airport, as they left nothing to the imagination. Frankly, we have not previously stayed in an accommodation that even began to match the apartment that Peter provided for our three-day stay in Amsterdam.

Visited Amsterdam for the first time in early April. Spent 3 nights at Boogaards and could not have been happier. Just a ten minute walk from the Centraal Station on a quiet street, Boogaards is ideally located for exploring the whole city on foot. We stayed in the 2nd floor apartment with sitting room, kitchenette, and two bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom. The fridge was fully stocked with sliced meats, cheese, beer , soft drinks, milk and juice. Bread and fruit were also on hand and best of all, homemade brownies! Beds were very comfortable.

Peter is a wonderful host who goes all out to insure his guests have an enjoyable stay.

Many thanks to Peter, Tomasz, Pepe and Curly for all that you did to make our stay such a wonderful experience,

We recently visited Amsterdam for the first time and spent 4 nights at Boogaard's. It is a wonderful place to stay in many ways. The location is excellent, just a 5 min walk to the Central Station. Peter is a wonderful host, very friendly and welcoming. He fed us great breakfasts every day (we never had to eat lunch) and, when we described the type of food we liked, he made reservations for us at excellent restaurants within walking distance. Then to top it off, every night when we returned home, there was a yummy desert waiting that we could eat in our sitting room. That was a great opportunity to visit with the other guests and Peter. Our room was clean, comfortable and had real Dutch charm. We always stay in B&Bs when we visit Europe and Boogard's is at the top of our list.

Boogaard's was recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there last year and it certainly lived up to our expectations. In terms of location it really couldn't be better. Although it was in the centre of Amsterdam it was very quiet and even though we explored on foot everywhere we wanted to go could be reached within 15-20 minutes. Peter is immensley proud of his home explaining how he had transformed it from a derelict building to the wonderful B&B which we experienced. As others have said the breakfasts are something special, the quality is outstanding and it's different everyday. (The pancakes were my favourite with a choice of 30 toppings!). The star of the show though is undoubtably Peter who went out of his way to make us feel at home. He spent time with us explaining about the city, providing maps and suggesting where to visit. He also recommended places for us to eat and made reservations for us which was brilliant and totally unexpected. All in all we had a great time - thanks Peter

If you are looking for a beautiful and comfortable place to stay where the owners personally care that you have a great time, this is the B & B for you.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city, with many places to explore but what made our vacation truly special was the kindness of the owners of this B & B. From the moment that we arrived, I felt welcome. Every morning, Peter created a sumptuous breakfast which provided us with energy to be on the go throughout the day. He unselfishly shared information about the city, museums, and places that we should visit. And every evening, he would ask us about our experiences while we were enjoying the delicious pasteries that he baked for us.
I have never stayed at a B & B before but I can honestly tell you that because of Boogaards, this vacation rates at the top of the list. I hope that one day I can return to this charming B & B again.
