This bed and breakfast is the cutest place you'll ever stay in. From the moment we arrived, Peter made us feel right at home. The rooms in the house are gorgeously decorated with a New England feel and each floor (2 rooms on each floor) has it's own lounge area and kitchen to share. This is where Peter will often leave you some freshly baked goods like his infamous brownies or cream puff squares. Delicious! The breakfasts were amazing and Peter will do anything he can to make sure you are getting everything needed from your Amsterdam trip. Such a comfortable, heart-warming bed and breakfast. We would recommend Boogard's to any couple traveling to Amsterdam and really looking to be pampered.

Room Tip: I would think all the rooms would be spectacular. It's on a really quiet little street so I can...

Just returned from a 17 day trip of Europe. My hubby and I started our adventure in Amsterdam, spending 4 nights with Peter at Boogaard's. Falling into a very comfy bed after a day exploring the city was perfect to rest the body. And his outstanding breakfast and conversation with fellow travelers energized the soul for another day of sightseeing. The location is a short stroll to the main area of the city, yet far enough away to offer a quiet, romantic respite at the end of the day. Nicely decorated with a lot of the comforts of home, including delicious baked goods every afternoon and a great coffee maker at your disposal in the shared seating area, Boogard's and Peter's hospitality made our trip to Amsterdam a very happy memory.

Room Tip: While rooms themselves are European in size, the common sitting room on each floor gives you more sp...

I should be selfish and keep this gem for myself! LOL. But serously if it wasn't for my Tripadvisor's fellows I would never know about this wonderful B&B for the first place. The house is gorgeous, very well decorated and the rooms are lovely. There is a nice lounge to relax and enjoy a warm cup of tea/coffee and some delicious treats that Peter prepares to spoil his guests.
The breakfast experience is legendary and it is very nice to have the opportunity to meet interesting people from all over the world while being delighted with wonderful food.
I miss Peter, Tom, Wilma and also Pepe and Curly, their dogs. Fortunately I am planning to return next November.

Room Tip: Careful with the steps.

We spent a delightful week at Boogaard's in August 2011 and can confirm first hand the accuracy of the rave reviews on this site. Peter is a great host, even went out of his way to pack us a lunch containing delicious ham and cheese sandwiches on his homemade croissants for a trip to Brugge. The location is quiet yet very convenient to the train station and the rest of the action. We'll do it again, for sure.

We found this B&B on trip advisory and the reviews were raving, so we gave it a try. Boogaard's was amazing. Our host and owner Peter is wonderful. He makes breakfast every morning and helps plan your day. He is a wealth of information and a Great Cook. 1st day we had ham and cheese croissants, plain croissants and fresh fruit. 2nd day we had bacon and pancakes and 3rd day we had fresh bagels and bread pudding. The room was very cozy and comfortable. Wifi, breakfast and snacks all included. The house itself is beautiful and in a great location. We will be going back next year and staying at Boogaard's!! Thanks Peter

We just returned from 6 nights at Boogaard's and I have to say that it was the best, and most unique B&B experience we have had. I heartily agree with all of the positive comments in the reviews below. Peter is a great host and thrives on providing a first-rate experience for his guests. The rooms and facilities are first rate and we just had a great time. There is a lot to do in Amsterdam and we had all the travel books etc., but it was Peter who really helped us figure out our day, all while he was cooking and serving us a grand breakfast! As others have mentioned, this is not your usual scrambled eggs and bacon kind of breakfast. We're talking pancakes, quiches, specialty egg dishes, a bagel breakfast Peter called his “New York” breakfast, and several other wonderful meals. And then there's yogurt, orange juice, and the other things you would expect. We never felt like we needed to eat lunch and actually skipped one dinner because we were so satisfied just from breakfast. The living room and kitchen just outside our room was great for coffee in the morning and for socializing with others staying there. It was a great group of interesting people and just a lot of fun. The location was perfect and we walked to all the museums and sites...including the train station. Just watch out carefully to make sure you aren't run down by a bike when walking as the bikes have the right of way and there are many many bicycles in Amsterdam! In summary, I can't imagine you can find a better place to stay in Amsterdam than Boogaard's. It's a great location, a great facility, and most of all extraordinary because of Peter and his staff.

Room Tip: Each room is a little different, so if you have certain requirements like a desk for computer, readi...

This bed & breakfast was one of the best highlights of our 3 1/2 week trip to the Baltics. The rooms were very comfortable. Besides the sleeping quarters with private bath, there was a lovely sitting room with a fridge/kitchenette area for you to relax in. I looked forward every day to see what yummy baked treat Peter had left for us for a snack. Breakfasts were the best with a lovely atmosphere to meet the other guests. We all always lost track of time just chatting away. Peter and his staff think of everything you might need and are always helpful with suggestions for sights & travel. Located only a few blocks from Central Station, you can easily get anywhere.Peter's dogs are hysterical and truly make you feel that you are in a home away from home. We missed the morning of Peter's "pancakes", so we'll have to return one day!

Room Tip: Rooms to the back are quieter. You will have to go up a flight of stairs.
