It was our first night in Amsterdam and our focus was on getting out to see the city. We received a recommendation to book a reservation at the Oyster Club. The location and seating were good. We had a table next to the window and could see the square.
The restaurant was nice. The hostess was attentive and pleasant. The sommelier was salty and refused to acknowledge our presence when I picked out the wine without his consent.
After three requests for water, we gave up. The meal was good but the size of the portions did not accurately reflect, even through questioning, that we ordered enough food for a family of four. As stated, the food was delicious but not extraordinary for the cost.
To cap off the night, the credit card system wasn't working so we had to pay with cash. Not a big deal since we plan for such issues, but others may not. The waitress apologized many times so I get the idea it was just a glitch.
All in all, it was ok but not worth the money.
