“Excellent location”

Very well located in the museum area. Hotel is a bit shabby for nh standards, which was rather disappointing. But the staff is very nice and the breakfast was good. The prices are way too high for the quality provided so, basically, if i went back to Amsterdam i would choose another hotel. They also provide a luggage room which is very useful.

The hotel environment was fantastic. The room was clean environment quiet. The location of the hotel was accessible to major attractions, such as; the Rijks Museum and Heineken. Additionally , access to the transport network was good.

Great location. Within walking distance of most major museums - Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum inlcuded. Unfortuntately, the hotel had an elevator that was not working which caused some inconvenience. Room was good size and comfortable. Staff was excellent.

Room Tip: If the elevator had been working, the hotel would have been rated excellent. The layout of the hotel...

First of all, when we arrived at 11:00 p.m. on a Saturday after our flight had been delayed two hours, we were greeted by an embarrassed representative who told us that they were overbooked and had no room for us, but they would put us in a taxi and send us to the five star NH Grand Krasnapolsky in Dam Square and then bring us back the next day to an upgraded room for our remaining three days. This worked out for us, since we had planned to explore the center the next day anyway. The Krasnapolsky was magnificent and a treat. Returning to the NH Museum Quarter we were put in a sixth floor room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the canal. We felt that they had certainly made up for their mistake. The view was incredible and the room large and comfortable. We were in 618

Hints if you stay here:
Confirm you reservation.
Bus #197 from Schipol airport (€4 at Lane B9) will get you close enough to walk to the hotel (about ten minutes). Find your walking route on a map before you get there. It's not straightforward.
There are plenty of good restaurants of all kinds on the other side of the canal.
The Rijsmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Diamond Museum, and Stedelijk Museum are within a five minute walk.
There is a one-block red light district on the other side of the canal two blocks south of the hotel.
Trams #16 & 24 (€2.80) stop a block away and goes directly to the center.

Room Tip: Sixth and seventh floors with canal room have floor to ceiling, windows. Any view of the canal would...

Hotel in a good location in the Museum Quarter. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean, we had a twin room, which was a good size and quiet. Overlooking the canal, very pleasant. Ate in the restaurant one evening, the food was lovely, the service was first class and we found it good value too. We chose not to have breakfast here (15 euros each) but went out of the hotel onto the main road, turned left and walked for about five minutes towards the museum and there was a lovely cafe serving fab food. We chose the Dutch breakfast, would definitely reccomend this to put you on till lunch time!!!! Trams are easily accessible with only a short walk from the hotel, the staff will guide you, you can get a 24 hour pass for 7 euros 50. The bus number 197 is a five minute walk away next to the concert hall and this is the airport shuttle, a bus every 15 minutes, cost us 4 euros from the airport and 3 1/2 euros back. Just make sure you stick your hand out to stop the bus, the driver when we were heading home drove past bus stops where people were waiting with suitcases!!!!! Amsterdam has lots of things to do, some wonderful buildings, hope to visit again one day.

Good staff. Upgraded on check in at my request to a 7th floor room with view of the canal. Definitely worth it, good room (could do with updating but nothing to worry about) and floor to ceiling windows with a gorgeous view! We sat looking out for ages one afternoon. We walked from the train station which took sometime, would recommend taxi. Excellent location. Passed two other NH hotels nearer to town centre but wouldn't have changed our decision as these were too central for us.
