Stayed here for 5 nights October 2017. The apartment is in a nice part of the city in a side street of Nassaukade and within walking distance of Leidesplein and also the 9 Streets. Several frequent trams run nearby and a bus to & from the airport starts not far from the apartment. There are plenty of shops nearby and we found a good bar (The Kiwi) 150 metres away. A great music bar (Maloe Melo) is only a short walk away. The apartment is excellent and is located on the first floor and comprises a bright and spacious living room with a double bed in an alcove. Out across the landing is a good sized fully equipped kitchen, a toilet and a lovely shower room. The apartment has lots of art on display and we found several interesting books on Amsterdam in the living room. Our hosts were very friendly offering advice on local facilities and the best places to visit in Amsterdam. We really enjpyed our stay here.
Thinking about booking a hotel for your stay in Amsterdam? Forget it! This is the real deal. Why limit yourself to a hotel room when for a fraction of the cost you can have so much more. This charming apartment allows you to come 'home' at the end of the day to space, comfort, peace and quiet, stylish bathroom and separate toilet, large fully, equipped kitchen, including Nespresso machine (not overly hungry after dining out at lunchtime? Why not rustle up a bite to eat at home, before heading to any one of the local bars - truly living like a local!). Or if you prefer to eat out there any many dining options in the area. Various forms of public transport are conveniently located nearby, though most of the popular attractions are only a 20 - 30 minute walk. The depot from which the airport shuttle commences and terminates is also located a short walk from the apartment. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with many objects from the travels of owners Robert and Anna. These gracious hosts will make you feel very welcome, with thoughtful touches such as the Danish Stroopwafels and biscuits, helpful advise concerning transport, tourist attractions and dining options. When we arrived at 9am there was never any fuss about 'the apartment not being available until 2pm'. Robert helped us with our suitcases and assured us we were most welcome to take up residence immediately, likewise as they didn't have guests arriving for a day or two we were told we could use the apartment until late in the afternoon on our day or departure, I don't recall EVER experiencing this sort of genuine hospitality. It was heartwarming. Robert and Anna, you are hosts par excellence and we thank you for helping make our holiday unforgettable.
Art Apartment has great location, just short walk to city centre,Rjks Museum, canal cruises and restaurants.A very comfortable apartment off quiet street, separate shower and toilet, huge kitchen with everything you would ever need!!Bedroom/lounge has plenty of space and comfortable bed.Apartment is decorated throughout with original art and collections from Host Robert-like staying in a gallery!Robert and Anna were wonderful hosts, very helpful at all stages of our stay and just a msg away for any questions. We were able to use washing machine which was great.
Very lovely space with a gracious host. Super clean and perfect location. We loved it and will stay there again if we return to Amsterdam.
I recently stayed at the Art Apt for a week and felt totally at home while there. There are so many things to love about this place, here are the highlights for me:
-As promised it is actually very conveniently located to all the main tourist attractions and museums. 20 mins walking to the Riks, Van Gogh on the Museumplein, or Anne Frank, or Leidseplein, maybe 30 mins walk to Central Station and Dam Square. There is also a grocery store right on the corner and tons of places to eat in the area for all budgets.
-197 Airport Express Bus takes you from the bus depot outside of Schiphol airport to the depot right by the apt and it runs so often you can easily get to/from the airport. It costs only 5 euro and takes about 45 mins. There is also all sorts of transit in the area, but I walked everywhere as it was so easy.
-The apt is very clean and beautifully decorated. It feels very luxurious with all the little personal touches Robert clearly puts into it.
-The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cutlery, coffee maker, tea kettle, spices, tea, sugar and many other things that make it feel like home.
-Along with Robert’s excellent recommendations and maps, there’s also all sorts of beautiful books about Amsterdam as well as a shelf of travel guides and food books, which I used daily to help plan my trip.
-It’s easy to get a good night’s sleep because there is not lot of traffic on the road and the bed is comfy.
-The rental and payment process was very straightforward and Robert answered all my inquiries promptly. He also checked in during my stay to ensure that everything was ok.
I can see why this place has won awards, don’t hesitate to book it for your trip!
Awesome location, so close to public transport, supermarket and just a lovely area to stay. The apartment was beautifully presented and we loved having so much space to come home to each day. Robert and Anna wonderful hosts, made you feel so welcome. They even took all our luggage up the stairs!!! I would thoroughly recommend this apartment and will definitely be telling our friends if they go to Amsterdam stay here.
This apartment is amazing, as promised and more; even including little niceties in the kitchen and bathroom. Fantastic location. Great facilities nearby, including supermarket, easy access to Metro, buses etc. Robert and Anna are super friendly, keen to help where and when they can, nothing appears to be too much trouble. I cannot recommend this apartment enough!
