the food here was excellent and it is a little gem - great prices and great food (and alcohol if you want a drink and/or beer or wine). we had a great chicken soup flavored with just the right amount of tomato, ginger and maybe even lemongrass, a wonderful salad and the chicken tikka masala was excellent. highly recommend it.

Looking for some indian food while I was Amsterdam, I was drawn to this place by some favorable review. I am so glad I did. I like to have some indian food every now and then, and I have sampled many indian restaurants around the world (including "real" ones) - and I can confidently say this is the place where I had the best food ever.
All flavors are fresh, natural and crisp and they blend perfectly, nothing is ever too strong or too weak - not easy to achieve in indian-region cuisines, with so many strong flavors. In short, it is done exactly right, and the result is absolutely delicious.
The staff is actually Nepalese, and they have some traditional nepalese items on the menu - which are top, as you might expect. The place is nice and small, the service is kind and attentive, it is a place for quiet food enjoyment, not for a big group - if you ever cared for indian food, you should come here and try some. And it's not even expensive.

After a long stay in Europe I was craving for some real good Indian food and this was what I exactly got here.....the Biryani was unbeatable, comparable to the one that you will get at Delhi Darbar or Shalimar in Mumbai.....
I would highly recommend to try out the Indian food over here and you won't regret.....!!!!!!

The entrance is up a few steep steps and through a narrow door. 8 tables and minimal decor...but then there is the food. We had excellent samosas and chose a Nepalese lamb dish and nan filled with fruits and nuts. A heated metal tray was brought to the table and the items were kept warm during the meal. We had a Nepalese beer to compliment the food. The flavors were distinctive and blended deliciously. We had gone in on a whim and were gratified to have had such an outstanding meal.
