We read a review on another site that said Omelegg was excellent and that they were coeliac friendly so we decided to travel down from the Movenpick near Amsterdam Centraal to try it out for ourselves.
Was it worth it - yes it was. With my daughter being on a gluten free diet we were keen to see how they coped with this - especially as you can watch the chef actually cook the omelettes. The waiter assured us that her dish would be cooked with gluten free oil. As cooking oils are generally gluten free we were unsure that he fully understood what was needed. Needless to say our fears were unfounded as we watched the chef carefully clean and prepare a fresh omelette pan with fresh clean oil and utensils and change his gloves to prepare my daughters omelette.
All three of our omelettes were fresh and tasty and the coffee was very good too. In all it was particularly good value and so much better than the pricier though more extensive buffet at our hotel. Certainly well worth a visit if you are in the area or don't mind a detour to get there.
