Large modern room in excellent position. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quite and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Art work throughout was interesting and gave the hotel a great ambience. I recommend this hotel.

Decoration of this hotel is creative, i liked it. Location is good as well, very close to central station, from where you can take a bus to Zandam, and windmills. But a bit pricey. Staff is good and helpful.

If you are reading this, you probably know 5 star is a very relative koncept. For Holland, this hotel is in the higher end, definately a class above NC Collection hotels like the Barbizon Palace. The decor is vibrant yet minimalistic, it is mirrors, rainshowers, big beds and thick carpets all around. The hotel features a restaurant in the better end, and a bar/chill-lounge. Still, there are problematic issues we must adress:

The staff is vey kind and service-minded. Janice and the gang took good care of me! The very diverse staff was all smiles and helpfulness, despite quirks..like a night receptionist who had no clue about breakfast- and checkout times (it took a lot of looking in some papers to find out). It is the management's responsibility to train the staff properly, so this is on the management, not the kind but clueless girl.

The place hosts the 5&33 Italian restaurant. Kind service and a great lobster linguini. No complaints whatsiever, although do not be surprised to see spa guests walking around in bathrobes among the tables as you enjoy your romantic or business dinner! It makes no sense and is just...wrong!

More importantly, there is a problem with the cleaning in the general areas. Examples:

The carpet in the hallways on level 1 needs serious cleaning/vacuuming, it was rreally dirty and full of small..bits of paper and other dirt all the time!

I saw a piece of crumbled up paper on the elevator floor. It was still there when I returned 2 hours later!!

At 1030 am my neighbour's tray with remnants of last nights dinner being served in-room was still on the floor outside their room. At 10:30 in the morning, almost noon, the dinner tray from the night before was still there, and stayed there for atleast 1,5 hours! Even though I saw cleaning staff walk around, working!!!

Finally, and horribly, I used the restrooms by the restaurant. By accident, I ended up in the handicap toilet. It was..soiled! It was pretty disgusting, and there was no toilet brush so I could'nt even fix it! It was also impossible to figure out what to do with the hand towel after drying my hands. Overall DISGUSTING!!!!

So, ambitious hotel, certainly the right direction..but the devil is in the detail! And there are cleaning issues, which MUST be dealt with. But Janice and crew were nice and eager to please, so I blaim management, not the staff!
