This is a great place to grab and awesome toastie, they are fairly quick and they also sell plenty of great baked goods to take home with you or back to the office for your colleagues.

It's not the cheapest place but the food is great so it's a nice place for a treat once in a while.

My suggestion is to go for the cheese and egg toastie it's pretty damn special!

My sister and I visited here for breakfast and it was amazing. They have a good variety of breads and treats worth checking out.

Fantastic organic bread bakery. One of the best places to visit if you want to have a simple breakfast or just want to buy some delicious bread.

Hartog's six grain bread is by far one of my favourite breads. Fresh, hearty, and for a decent price. It's always busy inside the shop, so don't go when you are in a rush... and of course, it's worth the wait!

Since the past 20-30 years or so, The Netherlands are blessed with an ever-increasing (as it looks) number of bakeries. Several of them also have informal restaurants (like "diners" in the US) where you can enjoy the local produce freshly, and have a good cup of coffee. The Hartog bakery pioneered wholemeal bread ever since it's foundation in 1896. I'm regular ever since the mid-70s, when they only had the standard, 800 grammes format, and even did not cut it for their customers ("if you can't cut your bread, you shouldn't eat it", they said jokingly). Nowadays, times have became less harsh - the Hartog bakery now features various kinds of wholemeal bread products, as well as a modest array of related bakery products. In 2008, they opened their diner at a stone throw's distance, which is reviewed here. The shop & bakery are absolutely worth the trip; beware for some waiting time (>20 people may already have queued up before you!)
