Just stopped here to rest our feet and have a brew. I had hot chocolate and it was delicious, other half had coffee and also very nice. Staff seemed friendly enough although very busy so not a lot of time to chat. As in most places in Amsterdam, the toilets were up some very steep stairs, not for the faint hearted.

We stopped in to Los Toros for a bite right after getting off the train at Amsterdam Centraal station. Los Tori's is right down Damstraat half a block from the station. Our spare ribs were decent, but getting the bill was a shock...4.75 euros for a small sprite (fountain, not bottle) and 5.75 euros for a large coke (still fountain and barely larger)...male sure you look at menus and be suspicious if drinks are not on them! Many other great places close to the main areas and many have great deals that include a beer even!

Nipped in here fore a quick cup of coffee before seeing the sights around the canals. Best cup of coffee it had to be said.

Looking for some dinner on the Damrak we stumbled on this place. Looks pretty uninspiring from outside and still pretty spit and sawdust inside. The menu is limited (I fancied chicken, but there wasn't any on the menu - it's basically steak, steak or steak with a token spag bol for the slightly less carnivorous). As the previous reviewer said its all a bit overpriced, especially the drinks, but everywhere in Amsterdam is overpriced. However, my other half and I both agreed this is the best hunk of steak we have had in a very ,very long time. Medium, no blood, just pink in the middle. Don't expect anything fancy - they do the usual sauces and you can either have chips, jacket spud or salad with your beef, but very little else. I had a 200g rump with baked potato (served with sour cream) and it arrived as plain as that, but the lack of fanciness just let the beauty of the steak shine through. Accompanied by an equally simple starter of a chunk of lovely fresh bread served with garlic butter, this was a very simple but very tasty meal. We felt a little ripped at the cost of the drinks but after comparing with a few other restaurant drink prices we felt a lot better. We'd definitely visit again if we go back to Amsterdam.

Visiting Amsterdam from our cruise ship and wanting lunch between two tours, we ate at Los Toros because it was conveniently located. Service was efficient but not particularly friendly - common in city centre restaurants.

We both ordered Wiener Schnitzel and Wieck's white beer. They arrived in reasonable time and were good. The prices were what I'd expect. I thought the bread we were offered would be complimentary but it cost €4-25.

The decor was a bit tired and the faux-leather seating has mostly lost its covering, revealing the cloth underneath. Not exactly a bad experience but I wouldn't make a point of going there again.
