Read the only review here and am surprised. Just got back from a long weekend in Amsterdam and found Athene by accident on the riverbank of Amstel in a lovely posh and quite location/neighbourhood. Emilios (the owner) and his team are doing a great job, food was authentically Greek (and trust me, I should know been a Greek myself), lots of interaction with the customers creating lots of Greek 'kefi' or to put it in Dutch, 'gezellig'! Which, means everything from everything from cozy to friendly, from comfortable to relaxing, and from enjoyable to gregarious! Lots of Greek drinks, such as wine, beer (Mythos) and of course 'tsipouro', the first produce that comes out when you distil ouzo... We would definitely be going back once in Amsterdam!
