I do not recommend this hotel. We arrived on a busy weekend. Although staff at service desk were friendly and professional it was not enough. Negative point was small room. Photos did not accurately represent room. Photos must have been taken many years ago as wood floors and walls were now dried out, separating and in need of restoration. Room also had musty smell. We reserved room with double bed, instead we got two small beds pushed together. When we complained about bed, receptionist said he will put a single sheet the following day to correct it. As we were only staying 3 nights that killed my first nights sleep as the single beds were small, and of course as everyone knows a single sheet still does not eliminate the gap.
The worst issue was the shower, it leaves 1cm-1" of water on bathroom floor. When we complained, receptionist explained ALL rooms did this, and she would be happy to send the cleaning woman to mop after we shower. Can you imagine showering before dinner and needing to go back into the bathroom for any reason and stepping into a pool of water which did not dry up even the next day? Even mats became drenched and were useless. Our view was an office building a couple of meters away with huge windows, and kept it's lights on 24 hours per day, therefore curtains could never be opened. Hotel restaurant was excellent if that redeems something but not for me.

Room Tip: Do not recommend any rooms.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Hotel V Nesplein! We are especially concerned that you found your stay to be inadequate, and therefore have been trying to reach you for more information about your room. If you would be so kind as to get in touch via email, I would really appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you further.

We are a new hotel (open less than one year) and so all feedback is appreciated while we find our feet and learn how to meet and exceed guest expectations before, during and after a visit.

Kind Regards and hope to hear from you soon!

The staff was friendly, and helpful. The restaurant is excellent. The location was great (close enough to the good -Jordaaan, Rijks, etc-, and the bad- "coffee" shops & red light district). The one fault was that my room, which was on the front of the hotel, wasn't sound proofed from the street noise. The street is a very quiet one, but close enough to the core of the city that you get the occasional late night revelers making noise in the street. I was awoken one morning by someone sawing wood across the street, and another time when someone knocked a garbage can or something over, and other times by people just being loud in the street. I didn't end up getting a good sleep. It's unfortunate because in most other ways this is a REALLy great hotel - reasonably priced, well located, good staff, and EXCELLENT restaurant. Perhaps rooms on the backside, or on a higher floor don't have this problem, but for me, it was a problem.

Thank you for your review! We love that you found us to be a great hotel, but really disappointed that the city kept you awake. Next time please request a room on the opposite side of the hotel before arrival and we will do our best to accomodate you!

We again had a very pleasant night in this comfortable modern hotel. It is well located in the cultural and shopping centre of Amsterdam at walking distance to the Central station. Service is friendly and excellent.

Room Tip: Rooms at the East side are best because you will not be wakened early by noise from the vans servici...

Stayed 3 nights at Hotel V Nes in mid December. Staff were super friendly and facilitated early check-in for us. Good breakfast deal w/ quality food but was a bit let down by the plain omelette. Room is very chic with furniture made of leather and metal which gives you an industrial/vintage look. The hotel is 3 mins walk from Dam Square and 5-10 mins walk from De Wallen. Nes is a nice, quiet street with quite a few decent restaurants, but in the end we found Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein seem more attractive to us location wise. Unfortunately our room was very noisy - it's at first floor and right next to the elevator and stairway. We can hear elevator running and door slamming (security door right off the stairway) through the night. Do try to avoid these rooms!

We found this hotel to be one of the nicest we have stayed in. The receptionist was exceptional. She allowed us to check-in early (by 3 hours). Throughout our stay here we found all the hotel staff polite and friendly. They are very welcoming whlst giving you privacy. We found the room very clean and to a very high standard. The shower was full of power and felt like you were standing under a waterfall. Just the tonic after a full day of walking. The hotel has paid very close attention to the decor. We would definatley stay here again.
