Description: Our bread is made today exactly as it was in the beginning: with only organic stone-ground flour, salt, and water, kneaded and shaped by hand and baked in a hearth under the watchful eye of artisan bakers. We insist on the freshest and finest ingredients. If we can't find them, we make them ourselves. Our shelves are lined with the products we've created: the jams and chocolate spreads on the communal table, the granola in your parfait, the coffee that fills your bowl.

We love this un chain chain. Always delicious food. Waitress over stretched but friendly and got there in the end.

After strolling through the Red Light District, my wife and wanted to get out of the busy area of town and a couple of detours later down Spuistraat and Rosmarijnsteeg we came across this lovely cafe. As they were fairly busy and we wanted to sit outside, we had a seat at one of the communal tables on their patio. The waitress spoke English and the menu was also available in English, so that was quite helpful as my Dutch is non existent.
We had a couple of open faced sandwiches which were delicious and some coffee. I can't remember what I had exactly, but i do have photos. We enjoyed our meal as we watched cyclist ride by.

I just loved this place, so relaxed and really good, simple food which is well presented and tasty. Obliging, smiley staff and an all round good experience.

We arrived in Amsterdam very early, having just come from the plane from the US. Hotel Hoksbergen let us leave our luggage there even though it was way before check in time. We went down a few doors and while they were not open yet, they let us come and see a menu so we could have breakfast. Great pastry and sweets.

Great fresh brewed coffee, likely the best I've had in years. Excellent fresh bread, rolls and croissants. Wonderful breakfast and lunch.
