Reviewed April 25, 2013

My husband and I, along with our 14 month old daughter stayed here in mid April,2013. This B and B is a 7 minutes tram ride from the center of the city. It is in a residential area, so it's quiet. There's a supermarket around the corner, and they have different varieties of ready made food that one can microwave . This B and B is a one bedroom apartment on the third floor. The owners,Rose and Marc occupy the first and second floor. The unit has a bedroom with very high ceiling with wood beams. The bed is comfortable, but the pillows were too flat for our liking . I'm sure if we had mentioned this to Rosé, she would have provided more pillows. The living room is separate. It has hardwood floors , a small TV, and it leads out to a very spacious balcony, and I mean really spacious. We didn't use the balcony at all, but it would be a nice place to have breakfast on a sunny day. The living room itself is not very big, but it was ok for a family of three. The bathroom is really big especially for European standard. It has a Long and very deep tub, and a separate shower. Breakfast was served every morning at whatever time we requested it. Breakfast included bread, butter, and boiled eggs. The same thing was served everyday, so we got tired of it after day one. It would have been nice to have varieties of food items such as fried eggs, bacon, sausage etc. we didn't mention the lack of variety to Rose, but I'm sure she would have given us whatever we wanted as she is very accommodating. The unit has a kitchenette , which has a microwave, a small fridge, coffee maker, electric kettle, and utensils such as spoons, forks, knives, cups, plates etc. There is no stovetop or oven, so cooking a meal is not possible. It doesn't have a washer/dryer, but when we mentioned that we needed our laundry done, Rose offered to get it done for us in her own apartment at no charge. And believe me, it was a lot of clothes. As mentioned earlier, this B and B is in a residential area, but we didn't find this to be an inconvenience, as it is a direct 7 minutes tram ride to the city. We didn't visit any restaurants in the neighborhood , but the owner's niece mentioned that there were a few within walking distance. There is no elevator to the unit, and the stairs are very steep. Please put this into consideration , if you have any challenges that might prevent you from going up and down the stairs. Hotels in Amsterdam are generally expensive, so we consider this one a good value. We paid about $200 per night. The unit was clean. Our overall experience here was great, and I would recommend it.

Room Tip: There's only one unit; a one bedroom apartment on the third floor. Please note that there is not...
