Really one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam and a great value. The three course menu starts at 38 Euros. For what you get...that is an amazing price when you consider the quality, artistry and presentation. The staff is very friendly, informed and efficient. The food is very original, exquisite and extraordinary. Reservations are recommended as it is constantly full.

This is a foodie restaurant. You can expect to be delighted in the menu, presentation and service. It is one of the best meals I have had for the money.

This restaurant, slightly out of the main city, has a very welcoming atmosphere. The front of house staff are very friendly and well informed about the menu and wine list. The food is superb, delicious combinations and tastes. It is prepared in an open kitchen within the restaurant. Really enjoyed our meal and would go back without hesitation.

Jaspers is a fairly small restaurant located in the outskirts of the bustling 'De Pijp' area. Inside you are welcomed in a quality atmosphere where it is all about quality food. The food looks really good and tastes excellent. Set menu's start at 3 courses and can be extended to 7 or 8 courses. The wine list is affordable. A great place for a romantic dinner but also a place where you can have a business diner.

We were looking for a place to have dinner with a friend of mine and were lucky enough to find a table in this place. Overall it was a very pleasant surprise both in service and food...I didn't really know what I was getting into but I will compare it with a nice last minute restaurant...

The place
The restaurant itself is quite low key. It has an open kitchen which is nice and the chef comes out and talks to people in the tables which is ver nice. The decor is elegant but at points feels a bit old. The bathrooms weren't great but I guess it is a secondary thing...

The food
So this is why one comes to the restaurant and to be honest I was very pleasantly surprised. I would say that for the food itself the restaurant probably could be at the level of a one Michelin star. There is a somewhat fixed 3-course menu with the possibility to add 3 additional dishes and a cheese plate to a maximum of 7 courses. They have some options to the main course and appetizer. The typical dish is slightly larger than a Michelin star restaurant so you are perfectly fine with 3 or 4 courses. We had a foie flan as appetizer (the alternative), a poached egg with mushrooms and truffle oil as the "added" dish, slow cooked pork shoulder as the main course and a chocolate mousse as dessert. All dishes were good and nicely presented.

The wine
So...this might be the reason this place does not have a Michelin star...they have OK wine...to be honest I would have expected a better wine menu and more options. They have some few options from the key wine producing countries (France, Italy, Australia, Spain...etc.) but the truth is you don't find any big names...or even moderate names...so a bit of a disappointment.

The service
Flawless. Super nice with an attentive chef that was very present. Our water and wine glasses were always full and the food came at the right speed...not too quick nor too slow. A big smile and flawless English made me feel at home...or at least in a place where language barriers were not an issue...

Overall
At about 90 euros per person for a four course dinner including wine this is definitely worth the detour. The service is impeccable...they just need to improve the wine list and perhaps work a bit on their overall menu (the way they handle it is flexible and nice but smaller and more dishes would make it feel even more Michelin star-worthy)...but overall I am very happy with the meal.

We had been recommended by some work colleagues and we were not disappointed. The starter was absolutely delicious as were the mains. Original mixes of flavours nicely presented. I found the dessert (a chocolate millefeuille) not as good as the rest. Definetly a place to go back to.
