A Brazilian restaurant on the non-tourist area of Amsterdam, Chamas offers good value buffet and very warm service from the owners (I think) themselves. The lady is Brazilian and it feels like you're welcomed to her home. The buffet costs 14.90 and you can avail of unlimited salads (2 kinds), feijoada, steamed rice, a stewed chicken dish and a piquant, delicious pork ribs dish. If you order a picanha or their sliced beef and onions dish for extra euros, you can also avail of the buffet.
I ordered the picanha and was billed 21.90 euros including the buffet. The steak was so so, lacking the chargrilled, churrascaria flavor (probably pan-fried) and a little tough. Maybe I should've followed the male owner's suggestion of the grilled sliced beef with onions (19.90 euros). Still, the flavor of the buffet offerings and the genuine friendly service of the couple more than made up for it.
