“They said there was great food in the Red Light District”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

We found this place by chance, while wandering through the Red Light District. Our Dutch friends said "you can find good restaurants there". And they weren't wrong. The St. Morris was a serious find, with plates full of delicious food (four or five different kinds of meat), authentic Latin music, friendly, trilingual staff and affordable prices. I could have done without the soccer games on big TVs, but, in a sense, they only added to the genuineness of the place. Excellent dinner. Fun atmosphere.

“Much better places to go”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

The food was overpriced, not a very comprehensive menu. The food was flavourless and dry and overcooked with pushy staff and there are just much better places near by, save your money and keep on looking.

“Do not go here - stupidly overpriced, flavourless food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2013

This is one of the worst meals I have ever had. Every thing on the menu was over priced. Usually I don't mind paying extra if the food tastes really good and has flavour. I paid 16.50 euros for a tuna steak to find out nothing came with it - 7 euros for some mixed vegetables??? This is the same with the steak. Absolutely ridiculous. "Prawns in a whisky sauce" - no it's not, it's a cheap prawn cocktail with some drab lettuce leaves wrapped around. "Meat patties" with some description that wasn't correct - just some microwaved mini pasties. Tuna steak was so overcooked it was just dry. Garlic sauce looked like something from a kebab van. So disappointing. We all laughed when the bill came. We couldn't actually believe they could charge that sort of money for the food that came out of it. One of my friends had a steak and actually said the best part of their meal was the chips. Another friend had a chicken kebab which was described as something with bruschetta - it was literally about 6 pieces of chicken and some red onion on a metal skewer - just one! Ridiculous.

“An unforgatable Valentine's Day at an amazing place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

My boyfriend and I decided to spend Valentine's Day this year in Amsterdam and for our great surprise we didn't find any Dutch restaurants but mostly Argentinean. And so we went to one great place where we had a sort of mixed grill for the two of us. It was the best meat meal I have ever tried:) It was cooked exactly the way we wanted it and the taste was fabulous. The great service and atmosphere made us feel like we really were in the middle of Argentina. The place is called "Saint Morris" and if you visit Amsterdam, I suggest you visit it :)

“Not a good Argentinian”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

We asked well done meat and we had to ask twice to cook it better because it was bloody. We had to eat this way because we were angry.
The service was too slow. We were waiting 30 minutes for a steak and sirloin. And after that the dishes were warm.
Our table neighbours were Italian and they got shrimp cocktails frozen!!
However, the meat was tasty and tender but I am used to eat in Argentinian restaurants, and there are better in Spain.
2 people, meat and water = 60?
