“Terrible service”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

The hotel and the rooms are nice, but the service is really poor. A part of the ceiling was open and hang down in the bathroom and shocked me with electricity and there was no cold water (only hot water). For me, that was no problem, because we just switched rooms and it worked out. But at the reception, I heard no apology or what so ever. Later when we asked for a cab, it didn't show up (also no problem, we'll just wait more) but the receptionists just laughed because apparently the taxi stood at a different hotel, I'm sorry but that's not entertaining to us and no apology again. The personnel is just not nice and not personal at all.

We do apoligise for the inconvenience of the technical failures in the room.
In the mean time the technical problems are fixed right away.
This is absolute not the level of service we want to provide to our guests.
We will share the comments with our team, and make sure this kind of situation is not
going to happen again.

Bedroom on the twelfth floor; Seems to be due the exterior design/construction, but when windy outside, which is probably often in the locale, there is a terrible constant wind noise apparent in the room. A bit of a design flaw.

For the nightly price one would hope for tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Tall cylindrical building, served by only two lifts. Can lead to lengthy wait times.

Funky design to the room, with cool glass cylinder design shower in the room and very large (2meter diameter) port-hole style window commanding superb views.

Probably serves particularly well as a business hotel, due to the number of large companies locally situated.

A funky design which may look great. However the shower leaks, there's no-where to hang your towels, no minibar, no socket and mirror together to dry your hair and if you are in room 1506 it's so noisy when someone is on the treadmill you think they will come through the ceiling.

The restaurant is good and breakfast ok but not terribly organised.

Would I return? No.

I stayed in this hotel because I had to work nearby the next morning. My stay was not bad, but I think this hotel wants itself to be more than it is. The room has a 'quirky' design, which also means no separate bathroom. The shower is, as mentioned, a glass cylinder in the middle of the room. That makes this place very unsuitable to stay for example with a colleague or friend, but to be honest, even with my partner I don't need to be this much on display. The towels were great, big and fluffy, but there was a severe lack of other bathroom amenities. My stay was a bit unplanned, and there was no toothbrush/paste, comb and only one combined shampoo/bathfoam pump. For a hotel claiming four stars, that is too little. Also, the shower was leaking already. Since I was staying just after opening, I can only wonder what it will look like six months in.

On the up side, the bed was quite comfortable, nice pillows and cover. I had a decent sleep, but was awoken by drilling around 7am.
Finally, parking was free for now, but I was warned that it would be charged at 24 Euro/day in the future. Since this place is completely on the outskirts of Amsterdam, you really need a car, and this would add substantially to the price of a nights stay.

In all, my stay was not bad, but also not deserving four stars. I feel like they have spent more energy on a cool look and bar than comfort and service. As a result, the value for money is not too good.

This has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed in!

I was there on business, and for only one night and the hotel is amazing and very reasonably priced. Quite simply; go there!

It is quirky (the htel is round), the rooms are fantastic; I had a round glass shower in the middle of my room and could overlook the A10(?) motorway from the 15th floor as I showered! The hotel is wonderfully decorated.

Despite its proximity to the motorway the room was very quiet and I couldn't any traffic noise meaning that I got a really good night's sleep in the wonderfully comfortable bed.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the service impeccable and food really good.

Highly recommended.

Tim.

Room Tip: Get a room as high as you can (I was on the 15th floor) - the views are spectacular!

Even taking into account that this hotel just opened it was one of the most inconvenient stays we've ever had. The rooms are exceptionally poorly designed and appointed: the outlet for the hairdryer is just out of reach of the only mirror, no towel bars so dry towels are left folded on the limited counter space and wet towels are draped over chairs etc, the limited counter space is also taken up by a very large objet d'art of indeterminable aesthetics, the only soap/shampoo is in a leaking liquid dispenser in the shower, no Kleenex... The shower is a glass tube in the middle, really, of the room. We were using the hotel for a business trip and the inadequacies of the room became a source of frustration. It's inconceivable that this hotel is part of a chain. There were workmen constantly working on the elevators. House keeping showed up to service the room at 6 in the evening. The hotel over looks a horrid neon strip with a burger king, a KFC and some other fast food joint.
The bar and restaurant are good with fabulous views and should not be tainted by the ludicrous design of the rooms. The staff in general is nice and pleasant but still in training.

The whole experience was baffling. it could be that they opened too early and are going to remedy the issues in the rooms, we'll never know, we have no plans to return.
