I booked this through Orbitz and I was concerned what my experience would be since the hotel just opened and is still going through final completions. I arrived to the hotel exhausted and I was expecting a not so warm greeting compared to other visits to European countries. However, the staff was very warm and friendly. The hotel rooms when I was there did not have many bars so they gave me a voucher for a free beer or soft drink at the hotel bar. The room I got was on the small side and it was a double but with two twin beds which kinda defeated the purpose of booking the room for a larger bed. The room was very modern but did not have a true closet space so I had to leave my luggage out. The Shower in the room was amazing with a rain shower head coming from the ceiling in a glass boxed shower. Some of the negatives were that the maid service never made the bed, which I found unusual, Breakfast is very expensive around 15 Euros I believe (I brought my own food for breakfast thankfully), the hotel is still going through construction, and some of the TV channels did not come through clear. I found the free WIFI to be a great plus as well as how knowledgeable the staff was in directing me to go see places. As far as location (the reason why I did not give it a perfect score), you are located next to tram line 12, but the trams stop working at midnight. The only way to get back to the hotel from the main part of the city late at night is to take the bus from Amsterdam Central to Sloterdijk Station and walk about 10-15 minutes to the hotel. The only other option is cabs, however, cabs are very expensive here. I had to take a cab from the Southwest Side of the inner city to the hotel and it cost me almost 21 Euros. If you don't mind having to travel a bit to get to things then its a good location. Its relatively easy to get from Schipol Airport by taking an inter-city train to Station Sloterdijk, which is like the 2-3rd stop after the airport. Overall, I am very please with my stay and I would more than likely return if I come back to Amsterdam.
