We were in Amsterdam for long weekend at the end of October. I don't think Wytse actually arranged the beautiful sunshine but he had thought of everything else we might need. The apartment is in the perfect location for exploring central Amsterdam. It's very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. Wytse was the perfect host. He explained everything we could wish to know about the apartment and local area as well as recommending places to eat and shop. We loved our time in Amsterdam and Sonnenberg is a very special place - we're hoping to go back in the future.
I highly recommend this beautifully appointed apartment, situated perfectly to enable you to walk to most attractions.
The view from the large windows over looking the canal with the leaves rustling in the breeze was amazing.
Wytse, the owner was very communicative and answered all our questions prior to our arrival in a very quick response time.
He met us at the apartment and gave us a really good rundown on the apartment and things nearby.
Thank you Wytse for your hospitality.
Wonderful place to stay, on the canal, to see the sights in Amsterdam. Lots of bicycles, keep your eyes open when crossing the streets.
We loved sipping our morning coffees in the window seat while looking down upon the boats floating by in the canal. It was quiet by night and bustling during the day; the perfect spot from which to explore all that Amsterdam has to offer. Close to museums, restaurants, shops and parks, we loved Wytse's apartment for its location and historic charm. A return visit is definitely in order. Thanks for your hospitality!
Great place! Centrally located. Walk to everything. If you want to experience daily life in Amsterdam this is the place. Beautifully located on one of the main canals inside the canal ring.
This was the last leg of a 15-day European vacation for my wife and I and our two younger children (10 & 12). It truly felt like home for the four nights that we were there.
Wytse was a great host and the place was exactly as it was represented on VRBO. The only caution I would give is that the spiral staircase within the property is somewhat steep and narrow. People with any physical difficulties may have a problem.
We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Absolutely loved it. Thanks, Wytse!!
Four of us spent four days in this lovely flat. It is well appointed, and well supplied. It is well located for sightseeing, shopping and dining. Lots of travel guides for your use. A Few things you should know when choosing... the staircases are very steep and narrow. Suitcases up and down make for a good physics project. Bathtub is slippery and not easy in-and-out. Bring your own soap.
Great to have a washing machine, but European, so will take more than an hour. We used the drying racks rather than the dryer feature in the combo machine.
But this is a great flat canal side. We were warmly welcomed. I highly recommend it!!!
Was not aware of the spiral stairs until we arrived. One of out party had extreme difficulty in going up and down. It was difficult to have a shower in the bathroom due to the proximity of the sloped ceiling. The bath towels did not appear to have been washed properly. The instructions for the washing machine were not very clear.
