My friends and i stayed here for one night to have somewhere to stay in the city. We got a lovely 3 bed room which was small but we didnt need anything big. There was a tv and a very nice bathroom. Everything was very tidy and clean. The beds were comfortable. Very safe with a great position in town. Nearby tram stops

Pro:
- Location, close to centre, beside vondelpark, nice areas to eat, handy No.3 tram.
- comfortable beds, very heavy dark curtains
- TV channels, better than most hotels

Con
- tried moving us to 1 star hotel (Marnix) as over booked, said no, then tried moving us to a better hotel, said yes, but then they found space at original (mosaic).. lot of time wasted + confusion on phone
- shower does flood a little, but not a big deal
- 2 single beds pushed together, however this was made clear before reservation.
- coffee/tea only available 2pm onwards
- no hairdryer/coffee facilities in room

Room Tip: If they try move you becareful to review that hotel before agreeing!

The hotel was excellent value for money, very cheap! The rooms were modern and clean, plus the beds were very comfy! Not a bad word to say about this hotel! 10 minute walk away from centre if you had a fast walk but it enabled us to find stunning bakeries!

Very central location and nice apartment. It definitely was not spacious, but it was sufficient. The cleaning was not very good - the desktop was dirty when we arrived. Furthermore, there was no remote for the tv.

On arrival the receptionist was rude. Thought out the stay she got worse they then charged my credit card the €250 smoking fine for smoking in the rooms when no one was smoking in the rooms. During the complaining process she then put the phone down on me and refused to answer the phone again. Taking this further.

Amsterdam is quite an expensive city when it comes to accommodation. If you don't want to stay in hostels, most budget hotels either have tiny single rooms or steep and narrow staircase that is not suitable for anyone carrying a big suitcase. Mosaic Hotel City Centre was one of the rare exceptions. It is 12 minutes' walk from Leideplein and from there you can take buses or trams to anywhere in the city, including the airport. There is also tram no.1 on Overtoom Stop that goes to Centraal Station. The hotel is located in a nice little area, not too busy or too quiet, with plenty of cafe, restaurants and supermarkets. I spent two nights in the small double room, which would fit 2 persons (but 3 would certainly be crowded) and had no big problems. The bed was comfortable and soft. The temperature in the room was just right. The bathroom was large, with no curtain or wall to separate the shower space and the toilet, which could get a bit messy. Also, I wish they had a holder for the toilet roll. The hotel was generally clean, apart from the fact that I found two blonde hair on one of the towels (which is why I took one star out). The reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The Asian lady even remembered my name the next day after I checked in. They had a free coffee and tea corner in the reception hall, but allowed it to be used from 2 to 8 pm, perhaps due to their no breakfast policy. I feel that if they were generous enough to provide it 24 hours, or better yet - put the coffee/tea facilities in each room, Hotel Mosaic would beat its competitors hands down. Anyway, I very much enjoyed my stay there and it was a perfect shelter from Amsterdam's rainy days. Not bad at all for 33 GBP a night I paid.
