Frank and Oki were the perfect hosts for our stay in Amsterdam. Everything was wonderful...the location, room, breakfast and great reccomendations for restaurants and sight seeing. Have recommended Le Quartier Sonang to all our friends!

Amsterdam is a lovely city made even lovelier by its people. Frank and Oki run a truly wonderful place!

The warm reception (and refreshments!) from Frank made us feel instantly at home; he was so naturally engaging and provided such useful information about walking routes, restaurants, places of interest, etc. His affection for his city was quite contagious! We, ourselves, fell in love with Amsterdam. Oki, on the other hand, makes the most divine breakfasts and we could always approach him for anything. Including heavyweight lifting. Ha! The wonderful thing about the both of them is that nothing feels contrived; you really are made to feel welcome in their beautiful home. We loved the handwritten notes and sweets at turndown, and the little stuff they put in the ref at no extra cost!

Our room was spacious and light-filled and super clean; and we slept so wonderfully well in that amazing COCO-MAT bed. The location of Le Quartier Sonang is ideal for exploring the city. It is removed from the madness of more central places; but everywhere you want to go is still within easy reach. The neighborhood is so, so elegant with lots of greenery and wonderfully-decorated houses; and allows you a glimpse into local life. It was quite a lovely experience.

Thanks, Frank and Oki! We hope to be back and soon! :)

Oki and Frank have created a beautiful b and b with care and love, and they provide the utmost in welcoming hospitality. They made me feel instantly at home, and provided gracious and helpful advice for exploring the city and their neighborhood. I stayed in Chambre de Ville and it was comfortable, spacious and well-furnished. The home itself is lovely with huge windows, and is in an ideal location which is a close walk to both the center of the city, museums and the Vondelpark, but in a real neighborhood as opposed to a tourist zone. It was wonderful to look out the window in the morning (enjoying the delicious breakfast served with a fresh rose and warm greeting by Oki) and watch the neighborhood residents on their bicycles as they started their day. It was so comforting to return to Le Quartier Sonang at the end of the day--a peaceful and welcoming retreat. I recommend a stay here without hesitation.

Spent two nights in November in Oki and Franck's guesthouse.
The house is stunning, very well located and the interior is very elegant. The room is spacious and contains everything you need. The bathroom is design. The bed excellent! Oki and Franck are amazing hosts, friendly and ready to help and provide information on the city.
Oki brought the breakfast every morning directly in our room at the time we wanted, a mix of fruits, breads, croissants or cheese and fresh orange juice. Around there are some nice restaurants (we went to Bosco and the food and service were really good) and the house is very close to Nine Streets district (charming street with small boutiques and cafes). Overall, a great time in "Le quartier Sonang". I will defintely recommend it and will surely go back next year.

Oki and Frank have put together a great B&B, tending to every detail with a thoughtfulness that characterizes who they are. They have a warm and comfortable home in a great neighborhood. The quest rooms are spacious, and nicely appointed with completely updated baths. Everything we needed was provided as well as nice unexpected little surprises. We travel a lot (nearly 40 countries to date) for business and pleasure and have been frequent visitors to Amsterdam for over ten years always enjoying our visits but staying with Oki and Frank felt much more like 'home' and it greatly enhanced our experience. We highly recommend it.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms, both are very nice but we preferred the one looking into the inner courtya...

This was our first time for my husband and I in both Amsterdam and staying at a Bed & Breakfast, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Frank and Oki are the most gracious hosts, and their beautiful house is located in such an opulent, quiet and authentic residential area of Amsterdam. We unfortunately only were able to stay a very short time with Frank and Oki, however our stay was amazing.

We arrived in the early afternoon and were welcomed with a warm beverage. As we were incredibly pressed for time, we were given a very detailed run down on the must-see sights of Amsterdam (The nearly Nine Streets were great.) Nothing was too much trouble, and we felt like we were staying with old friends or family.

We were then taken to our breathtaking Kamar Bidadari room! It was meticulously clean, very spacious and very well laid out. The bathroom was very large (a rarity in Europe!) finished with the best Villeroy & Boch bathroom ware. There was a large, sprawling balcony where you could enjoy your hand-delivered breakfast in the morning.

The bed...I honestly was so scared I wouldn't get out of that bed in time to catch my morning train that I had to set about 3 alarms. It's like sleeping on a cloud! I had one of the best nights sleep in my life.

The room was very large and had a great amount of amenities, such as wardrobe, slippers and tea and coffee making facilities.

The nearby area is gorgeous, with little cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. It seems like a world away from the stereotypical, touristy areas, yet is not too far away.

Thank you so much to Frank and Oki - we look forward to seeing you both again, and definitely extending our next stay in Amsterdam much longer!
