This is the place to be in Amsterdam if you would like to have nice meal. The restaurants do not look very posh (most of them), but the food is excellent.

It used to be a very dangerous street but it has grown into a really great street. Lots of places to eat (Bird, Thai restaurant is great) and also the Latei (at the end, close to the Nieuwmarkt)...

During the weekend it's really busy there. There are a lot of things to eat like chinese restaurants and pubs. In thr past it was not a safe area for tourist but now it is oke. For me it was a little bit busy.

A narrow alley with a lot of cheap eateries! Seems like a backlane Chinatown, there even a temple (Fo Guang Shan Temple) which you can visit. Very cool place to hang out, though I probably wouldn't want to be here late at night.

Read up on the brief history of Zeedijk on how changed slowly in the last 500 years - from a highly prestigious residential area for merchants, to a centre for nightlife, then to crime and vice, and now it is a popular tourist attraction with lots of food options.

American Chet Baker committed suicide here at Zeedijk in 1988 and there is a plaque at the spot where his body was found.

The history of Zeedijk is really intriguing and one should know some of it before visiting - this makes it all the more interesting. Google it!

We enjoyed the big party that there was during the Gay Pride but a part from this, it was a place not so funny. The window girls are curious to see for the ones that are not get used to it but a part from this..nothing special I would say.
