“Van Gogh exhibition.”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

We went for the Van Gogh exhibition as theVG museam is closed. The exhibition was excellent. It was chronological and gave us much insight into his psyche. There were many different pictures there. It was worth the money. The cafe too was very good.

“I fell in love with Vincent Van Gogh paintings”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

Van Gogh collection has been moved temporarily from the Van Gogh museum into the Hermitage till they finish the renovation of Van Gogh museum in April 2013.
The Hermitage is a giant building in Waterlooplein area, we entered from the gate on the river as we stopped during our river trip by the boat.
The Museum is divided into 2 main wings, Van Gogh & Impressionists…
I fell in love with Vincent Van Gogh paintings, felt like hypnotized, his brush strokes in the paintings were like a dream, You will never feel that unless with original paintings! Get the audio device for extra 5 euros & enjoy the great stories about the pieces displayed.
They have several gift shops in the end of each tour, with various famous pieces printed in several options: postal cards, mugs, calendars, magnets, block notes, key chains, even scarfs...& Books, Which I couldn’t resist spending a great amount of euros..
You have to be VERY conscious to minimize spending on these gift shops.
Recommended for this museum 1-2 hours minimum. Taking photos are not allowed here.
ENJOY..

“Interesting, but not worth the wait”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

We went to see the Van Gogh display that recently moved from the Van Gogh museum to here. The line up was misleading and quite long. There was a line outside the museum that looked not too bad, but after waiting for 30 minutes we were let into the courtyard to an even longer line! Once we got in, the museum was 2 floors and pretty interesting, but after waiting so long, we were not in the greatest moods. If you go, pre-purchase your tickets so you can bypass the line and you will have a much better day than we did!
