“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

Considering the price of hotel rooms in Amsterdam this one is a good bargain. It is well located in the Red light district, close to the central station. The hotel is very clean, quiet and staff is helpful and pleasant. We where happy to see that front door is locked at all time. We felt secure.
The breakfast is good. Plenty of choice, warm and cold.
Our room was very small, but the beds are very comfortable and everything is new. The shower got lot of pressure. Only shame is that there is no shower curtain so the water goes everywhere in the bathroom. I feel sad for the staff who must clean this up everyday.
It is a good place to stay for a short trip in Amsterdam. Ideally located, clean and nice staff.

The service is excellent and the women working there go out of the way to help with anything you need. Perfectly located on one of the best streets in Amsterdam. Rooms and bathrooms very clean and beds very comfortable.
Would definitely stay there again on my next visit.

The hotel was easy to find, in a very central location. Couple of minutes walk from Central Station, Red Light District and Dam Square.
Hotel room was immaculate, staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was safe and secure and reception was manned 24 hours.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going to Amsterdam.

Not far from central station, located on a great street with lots to do around it!
Very near the red light District, few coffeeshops on the street if that's your thing. Good irish bars. We stayed in two hotels when we came to Amsterdam recently and this was definitely the better of the two...

I think it has all been recently refurbished, hotel entrance /lobby well presented, friendly enough staff.

Rooms were modern with enough space. Nice comfy beds, big tv on the wall with loads of good channels. Good tea/coffee making facilities. Very clean. Nice bathroom and shower. Bit of noise from the other rooms but that can't be helped...

Overall we had a very comfortable stay, we didn't have breakfast as we prefer to go out and do our own thing.

If you stay here you are within easy reach of some must see places to go to!

- Anne Frank's house
- Sex museum
- Madame Tussards (very long que)
- Canal cruises
- Coffeeshops including very touristy "Hunters" "The Grasshopper" and "The Bulldog"
-Torture museum

The list could go on!!

Also get a train from schipol to Amsterdam central its much cheaper! Training is around 5 euros depending which one you get and is very easy and a taxi will set you back around a whopping 45/50 euros!!!!

My friends and I shared a triple room at the Luxer, which was great. The room was a decent size, clean and modern. The bathroom was clean and compact with a wet room style shower.
We made great use of the handy tea/coffee making facilities in the room that was topped up daily with supplies. The room also had a wall mounted TV, free WIFI, pin-code safe, table and chairs and a desk.
The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were also supplied daily.
The reception area was clean and modern and the welcome was always friendly and is manned 24 hours a day.
The hotel is in a great location!! It is a 3-4 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal station, which is ideal as there's regular trains from the airport to the station. The street runs parallel to Damrak which is one of the main tourist streets, that leads to centre of town and all the main restaurant and bar areas. The street is very close to the red light district, but is very calm and traditional.
I would definitely stay here again, without hesitation!

Room Tip: Our room was on the third floor, with a street view. It's a really peacefull street, both day an...
