Old Quarter fills a nice role between hostel and hotel.

Or more, a hostel where you only share rooms with folks you knew beforehand. A good base camp for heading out into Centrum.
Really easy to get to from Centraal station too, and from there walk out into the Red Light.

Staff were very friendly, if spread a bit thin. They were all good at their role, and in general.

Room Tip: Get something at the very back with a canal room if you want an en-suite, but personally I find the skinnies at the front suitable, and they're best value for money in my eyes.

It is a nice Hotel to stay in the heart of Amsterdam . Its near to all happening places , Railway station , tram , Red light district and lot of restaurants and shops . It is surraounded with crowed of toruists all the time .
View from the window of room if your room is at canal side is excellent . But in the mornig its quite noisy .

Room Tip: canal side rooms are good

Stayed here with a group of friends for 2 nights. The location is perfect, with great bars around the area (2 minutes away from the hotel). Walking distance from the train station so we didn't even have to take a taxi to get to the hotel. Places to eat around the area at very affordable prices. Definitely recommend it!

Stayed here with a group of friends in June 2014, we were allocated a room in the block across the street. The facilities were very basic but the room was kept clean. Got a good nights sleep when required, but still a great location for the bars/cafe's in the centre of Amsterdam. Only downside was the group of gentlemen standing adjacent to the front door at night who could have passed as extra's from Scarface. They were rather annoying, but if you don't make eye contact they'll leave you alone however wouldn't have felt comfortable if I was on my own. Hotel staff were great, checkout was 11am and our flight wasn't until 10pm and they were happy for me to snooze towards the rear of the bar.
