I stayed two nights in this hostel, it's located in the Red Light area. That is very convenient since it's nearby the centre. For the cheapest price that I could get in Amsterdam (10 euros/night) I stayed in one of the dormitory rooms. It was not so clean and there were more people than bunks in it.. So crowded and filthy. Shower cubicles are so small that you need to undress outside of it to avoid your clothes from getting wet. Also some of them are permanently flooded or cannot be locked.

My opinion is that even considering the price this hostel offers very poor quality. Be aware that the place attracts mostly party people. Guys are smoking weed and drinking beer all the time, one night two guys were shamelessly masturbating in the room.. So if you are looking for an affordable accommodation then know what to expect from this hostel.

Discusting hostel but nothing compared to how I feel after finding out how much we were ripped off. We went to ask how much a beds for 2 would be and were told 20 per PERSON. We go on their site to find out we've overpaid by 20 euro. How ridiculous is that? That's only for beginners. The front desk man says he's not the receptionist but gladly took our money and not only said he'd cover our city tax etc but giving us a deal. So much for that. Then comes the rooms. Smelly, loud, noisy. Let's not forget the bathrooms, the over flowing water (Being generous by saying water as it consisted mostly of urine, spit, hair balls and a hint of vomit?)puddle in the middle of the bathroom floor which was unavoidable if you needed to actually USE the sink or bathroom. Had people turning on the lights and slamming the door every 5 seconds at 3 in the morning. I could have lived with the discusting conditions but the fact we were over charged for an extra night we didn't even stay is absolutely ridiculous. Stay far far away.

Worsted hostel I have ever stayed at!!! I stayed here with my partner for 2nights (2 nights to long) it was Small, had to wait 20mins before allowed to check in as room wasn't ready even though we arrived 2hrs after check in time, it was dirty, where was no kitchen, no common room, crap internet, awful location (red light district) very unsafe, loud, no refunds! Showers broken, building work started inside the building at 7am so nobody had access to or from bathroom.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else

I dont even know where to begin with this hole. Showed up and the guy needless to say was awkwardly friendly slash hitting on us but it wasnt funny.
No elevator in this place and the stairwell is so steep it wss a mission and a half to walk up the stairs.
The room was gross... the lockers never worked and were damaged and the bathrooms were SO disgusting... I got SO sick after staying in this hostel... I have been sick before multiple times but this sickness lasted about 5 days while travelling. I felt like dealth.
The internet is good though so i cant complain about that because some places it just didnt work all that well.

DO NOT stay at this place unless you absolutley have too... its so gross.

Arrived into the white tulip with 4 other friends having booked a private room with bathroom a good 2 and a half months beforehand, after presenting our documents the lady asked us whilst laughing away:
"Do you want the good news or the bad news??"
After a nervous laugh amongst ourselves we realised that she was not actually joking when she told us that she had given our room to other people. The good news (in her opinion) was the fact she had found us a one star hotel as a replacement, although we no longer had the private bathroom and was now a good 10 minute walk away.
Luckily enough we are pretty easy going as the replacement hotel was quite shabby. We still managed to have a great weekend but the whole thing was a total farce. Will definitely be back in Amsterdam again but will definitely be telling everyone I know to steer clear of this hostel as giving a room away is unacceptable.

This place ruined my stay in amsterdam, not only does it have mice but it is undergoing revovations with guests still present. The security is poor with only half of the lock boxes working and not enough of them for everyone. The front lockable door had tape over the lock because it was malfunctioning so this disabled it. My booking was for a 10 bed mixed but there were 14 people in the room. The bathrooms were really grotty and one of the showers would flood the bathroom floor.
