Just got back from 3 nights staying at the Frisco Inn.
Would recommend this hotel for the great central location on the edge of the lively red light district, only 5 mins walk from Central Station, friendly staff and reasonable price.
I'm sure when it was first decorated it was great, but the modern decor is now a little tired round the edges.. we had a small room, which was most definately SMALL, but clean with a good shower and a comfy bed so what more do you need? The bed was made and towels replaced every day.
The stairs are steep, we were on the 2nd floor which involved 3 flights.. but not nearly as bad as I was led to believe by other reviews.. though certainly not for the faint-hearted or elderly..
The kitchen was closed during our stay so I can't comment on food, but there are plenty of places nearby for brekky.
The central location does mean it's a tad noisy, this didn't bother us at night as we were out late anyway, but in the early hours of the morning there's a lot of activity in the street outside; cleaning, bin emptying etc.. so not recommended for those who are fussy about piece and quiet.. also there was a DJ in the hotel bar on Friday from about 6pm..
All in all a good hotel for the price and location..
Great location, close to redlight,
rooms nice- stayed in delux- tv broken and shower pressure poor.
Stairs are ridiculously steep...RIDICULOUSLY! no easy task getting a suitcase up and down them let alone youself but all in all a good stay.
