“Good if ya with the lads...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2012

Iv stayed at this hotel three times now, twice with a group of lads and once with my fiancé, the hotel is in a good location if ya like to party and stay up half the night, it's surrounded with bars and clubs which don't close till early morning which is the reason people saying pack some ear plugs haha, (a good hotel if ya with the lads). If ya looking for a romantic weekend with your girl then don't choose this hotel, the rooms are old, basic and not the cleanest, most of the door locks/handles are broke, the place is just a bit run down which is ok if ya looking for a cheap place to rest ya head.

For £65.00 per night (double room) we could'nt complain. The location is very central to all areas of the city, and is 20 minutes walk (5 minutes by tram) from Central Station. Room was at the front of the hotel, on first floor. This was VERY noisy and made it hard to sleep - so bring ear plugs with you! The double room was a small double in a very small room. There was a fridge and a table, chair, small wardrobe and TV. The room was clean, but VERY DIFFICULT to nagivate with 2 people in it. We've stayed in a lot of hotels in Amsterdam and know what to expect, but it was TOO SMALL for a double. Bathroom was small and clean. We didnt make it to breakfast, so cant comment (breakfast included in price). The staff were friendly, spoke good great English and were helpful. If you're planning to spend most of your time out of the hotel, then the size and range of facitities dont really matter. Young couples, friends and solo travellers who just want a decent hotel, well priced who arn't fussy about the size of the room or how modern it is won't be disapointed.

Room Tip: Rooms at the BACK of hotel are quiter. If you require a double room, book TWO SINGLES.

Very good location at Rembrandtplein in the center of Amsterdam.
Small room, not very modern, but it's a place to sleep.

Not load even if it's just beside a number of restaurants and a nightclub.

VERY friendly and helpful staff.

The rooms we were given were just above the square. I'm very glad I packed some earplugs as the music and noise is very loud at the weekends.

The staff at the reception desk were fantastic. They gave good advice on places to eat and drink.
Overall not a great hotel the bed was in a poor state and the Toilet and shower were down the hall.
Saying that it was a budget hotel and that's what I was expecting.

This not a hotel for anyone with walking problems as the stairs are incredibly steep.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the square are great for people watching but very noisey.

The Atlanta was a very average hotel, it needs a lot of renovating, but the location is very good. If they just cleaned the place up it would be great. As it were, we were always out so it was fine for us. The staff was very helpful and the price was ok.

It's not for people in wheel chairs or other handicaps, but for most people this hotel is more than just acceptable. Price was good, staff showed excellent service, free WiFi that worked perfectly, and the location at this price could not be better. The stairs are narrow and steep and the place doesn't have an elevator, so that is why I wouldn't recommend it to people with minimal mobility.

Also, if you're looking for someplace quiet, I wouldn't recommend the hotel as the noise from the square (and maybe neighbors as the walls are a bit thin) is to be heard at almost all hours. So as long as you don't expect a hotel for doing business work, and as long as you sleep heavily, you'll like it there. (My room was out towards the square. If you get a room on the other side of the hotel the story might be quite different of course.)

The room has an acceptable size and the bathroom also has a good standard. Cleaning and housekeeping is good. There is no hotel bar, for those interested, but there are plenty of bars at the square and on both sides of the hotel, open till around three or four o'clock am, with decent prizes and nice, service-minded staff there as well..
