“Overall a comfortable stay”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

The hotel is located not too far away from central Amsterdam and within walking distance. Rooms are newly renovated and innovative, however bathroom shower is not designed well for proper water drainage. Lovely lobby and lounge area is very cozy. Not great value for money as the rooms are average in size in view of the room rate. Overall a comfortable stay but will consider other boutique hotels in Amsterdam for my next visit.

This hotel has been really nicely finished and in a great location - not too close to the centre of the tourist district but within walking distance of everything. The staff were friendly and helpful and overall we were happy with the stay.

However it was disappointing that the double bed was two singles put together - which has its obvious problems. Also our room was near the kitchen which was noisy first thing in the morning, slightly annoying on a break.

Small things can make the difference and although these didn't cause great problem they could be better, especially as it is a more expensive hotel and we had paid for an upgraded room.

Given these small issues we had a really nice time and would recommend the hotel... And it is the only hotel I've ever been to where there is whisky and vodka available at your leisure in the rooms and foyer!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Excellent location, but not great value for the money as the rooms are tiny, even the Executive suite I stayed in, and it is extremely expensive. The hotel is 'over' boutique-ed, they need to edit the way too many details and "stuff" everywhere. Some of the essentials are not functional especially in the bathroom: sink is extremely high (and I'm tall) and extremely shallow. Also, unclear what the need for 3 flat screen TVs in the room the size of a large Western style master bathroom suite.

The staff is nice and friendly, but lack of continuity between shifts.

For the price this is a very nice hotel. It's 5 minutes walking to bus stop. Grabbing a few drinks from the self serve bar (with wine, beer, vodka/gin/whiskey+mixers , espresso) and sitting on the deck is a great way to spend an early afternoon if traveling with friends. My single room was very small- but very clean and comfortable since I had very little luggage. Only saw one staff, who was very helpful and did not need more. Elevator to floors. Great hotel in vondel park for those who are low maintance. Will definitely stay here again. I,ve been to Amsterdam several time as this will be the first hotel I repeat because value is very high compared to price.

The hotel is located on a quiet street in a nice neighbourhood, yet only a 5-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam city centre.
For people that like to be anonymous it might not be the best choice, but if you like small boutique hotels with a friendly, personal touch, you will love it here. Rooms and common spaces are tastefully decorated and feel very comfortable, form the moment you walk in. Like a home away from home.
Excellent beds, fantastic shower, jacuzzi... I was sorry to leave after only two nights.

Myself, husband and another couple stayed here from 30th April until 4th May.
We were in room 17 and our friends in room 11, which is in the basement. Our room was very spacious, clean and everything up to date. The room overlooked the back garden and could reach it from our room via a side door. The hotel is off on a quiet street and and could not have been better. There are 3 rooms on our floor- 16,17 and 18. I can be a light sleeper and the only downside was that the kitchen was beside our room and i heard the noise just before breakfast started at 7. But it did not affect my opinion of the hotel. The beds are SO COMFY and i did sleep well at night. The staff were able to book us into dinner at the Vondel just metres away on our first night - which was Queens's day.
Breakfast could not have been better, everything you could want.Nice seating area and nice to sit in the garden for a pre dinner drink before heading out. The staff were all helpful.
