We stayed here 5 nights for a business conference. The hotel staff were exceptionally great with everything from room setup and needs to dinner and tour recommendations. As with most European hotels, the rooms are small; but very functional - includes multiple ports for charging electronics, minibar, coffee/tea maker, hair dryer. Rooms are clean.

This hotel is just across the street from the Leidesplain, so plenty of restaurants, shopping, busses, and trams. A short walk down the street will take you to the Vondelspark, and you are in walking distance to both the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. Also across from the hotel is a conveniently located hop-on, hop-off Canal Bus tour, which really helps with an orientation to the city.

Other items:
Breakfast was included with our price - a nice European breakfast buffet. Large variety of foods and beverages with efficient staff.
The on/off swith for television doesn't work like what you are used to. To turn on, must simply hit tv button. The on/off switch merely turns it off.
Recommend buying a few bottles of water at a small grocery down the main street rather than paying for it out of the minibar.

Overall, we had a very good experience here and would gladly return and recommend to friends.

Room Tip: A room on a lower floor might serve you well so you can take the stairs and not wait for the elevato...

Stayed in this hotel in April, really great value for money. Rooms really spacious more than enough room for 2. Beds r very comfy and kingsize!

The bathrooms large and very powerful shower! kept clean each day.

Benefit of the mini fridge, we pushed all items to one side and used for beer, saved lots of money by going to supermarket. Tv had lots of channels and we found watching the discovery channel was funny as the programs were English and adverts were dutch!

View wasn't Amazing from the room, looking out to another hotel but we didn't mind, only used room as a base.

Overall great location for exploring Amsterdam, only couple minutes walk from leidesquare, and 2 minutes from vondlepark. (Unsure of spelling!!) We managed to walk to most attractions, Anne Frank house, van Gogh, Heineken museum, the Jordan etc. But we are only 20 and very active anyway!!

We did not experience any food from the hotel , however a wide range was offered. Would defiantly advise anyone to stay here wanting to explore Amsterdam, and maintaining a luxurious place to crash at night!!

Good location but nothing else. The rooms are small, with old tv sets. Carpet in the hallways are in desperate need of replacement. Card reader in the elevator doesn't work well. Stayed there two night. First night I asked for wake-up call. Never got the call. Second night asked again for 6am call. Got the call at 6:45! The problem with the NH chain of hotels is the lack of consistent quality. Should have stayed at the Marriott next door.

Room Tip: Bring a clock with alarm. Don't bother asking for wake up call.

The hotel had a great location, nice reception area and our room was clean. However, it did not feel like a 4 star hotel. The room was tiny and the bed was very uncomfortable too. Breakfast was not included and very expensive.

I went here with 9 blokes in March on a stag do.

We weren't going for all out 5 star, but we have quite high standards and wanted to stay in a quality hotel.

£125 each for 2 nights in twin rooms was a bargain. Possibly the best location in Amsterdam for a night out, decent size and chilled out.

Let us check in at 10am and check out on Sunday was 5.30!

Rooms were as expected and well equipped and thoroughly recommend

We have not long returned from a most enjoyable stay at this hotel. The hotel is easily accessible from the airport by bus which stops just accross the road. Upon arrival the reception staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room was very spacious and clean. After reading some of the reviews on here I was slightly apprehensive but our only complaint was the air conditioning. There was a horrible smell coming from it. We didn't really need to use it though so it wasn't an issue. We found the hotel to be a great base to explore Amsterdam. Overall we would defintately stay at this hotel again.

The NH Hotel does what it says on the tin: it is a place to sleep, nothing more and nothing less. The room is very, very small and the bathroom is fine. The location, though, is what makes it a good place to stay. (It is very central.) They used to rent bikes, but have unfortunately stopped. Which wasn't very helpful. BTW, you have to pay for internet. Always a pet peeve of mine.
