“Good value for the money”
Reviewed July 10, 2012

Even though this is only a 1 star hotel we had a pleasant stay (3 nights). The hotel is located in the quiet area of Jordaan, near the Westermarkt and about 20 min walking distance from most of the big attractions. The hotel was clean, the furniture old but functional. Room was cleaned and bed was made every day. What could use a little work was the bathroom. You could hear the church bells going off every hour all through the night, so I recommend earplugs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Finding somebody at the reception was a bit of a problem. Breakfast was very basic, bread (dark/light toast), 1 slice of ham, 1 slice of cheese, hard boiled egg, jam, chocolate sprinkles, butter, tea or coffee, water – no juices. After checking out we where allowed to leave our luggage at the reception so we could enjoy our day. I missed the comment that for payments by credit card there is a 5% surcharge. If you are not a demanding travel I recommend this hotel as it is a good value for the price and we had pleasant stay.

Clean, basic and friendly.
Delightful location in the heart of the 'Jordaan', you can't really go wrong here.
En suite room and basic but adequate breakfast seal the deal.
I'll be back!

Great location and great space. Good for the value. Highly recommend to those not looking to spend a ton of money but value privacy and convenience to explore Amsterdam.

The hotel was very well organised and the rooms were a good size. Very good service for the price and the breakfasts were quite filling (more food than I expected). Only problem I would say is that staying on the first floor sometimes sound travels from the reception/corridor/kitchen. Would def consider this a good option!

This hotel was of average uality. The room was extremely small for two people and the bed was tiny. The walls were thin so you could hear people in the hallway. There was no bathing soap just soap in a hand dispenser which the hotel claimed you could use to bathe with, though that would mean stepping out of the shower and squeezing the hand dispenser every time you need to. On our last day someone had spit on the stirs and that stayed thee for hours. The wifi worked well so that was really convenient.

Breakfast was pretty bad. Just slices of bread, jam, butter, and a boiled egg. It became extremely monotonous as they serves that every single say with no variation. And
