Good food and warm service. Nice seating on the busy stretch of restaurants. The food was good and reasonably priced. No complaints at all. Would definitely go back.

Short summary:
We had to wait more than 2,5 hours till we had everything and could eventually leave this horrible "restaurant".
the restaurant manager was extremely rude to us, shouted at us and treated us in the most bad-mannered way, you can't even think of!
food was lousy

We were there on a Saturday evening in July 17.
3 people and had a table outside.
we ordered a pizza and 2 2-course-menus
menu = bread buns & butter / salat or soup / main course / tea or coffee

we ordered at 8:20pm
Salat and soup came short before 9pm - so >30 minutes.
salad was ok, tomato soup was nothing special, guess it was a ready-made soup just warmed - they offered not even a piece of bread with it.
after more than 50 minutes of waiting a nice young waitress saw that we were still waiting for the main dishes. Apologised and said it will arrive soon. I just wanted to ask a waiter when our food will arrive?
Another 15 minutes later there still was no pizza and meat courses. I had to ask another waiter, whats the matter with our food? then 5 minutes later at 10:15pm the main courses finally arrived at our tables. what a great performance that we had to wait nearly 2 hours after ordering!
Obviously they just had forgotten our orders - because other tables around us came later and got their food before us.

pizza was ok, nothing special, a real pizzaiolo (pizza baker) wouldn't dare to serve this
chicken meat dish was a joke, little peace of chicken some vegetables and cheese on top - that's it,
beef dish was an effrontery, it was literally just half
you could really see that the "chef" just cut it in half after frying, then sauce with mushrooms on top - go for it. Seriously??? you serve half a wannabe steak??

quality of the beef was crap - it was stringy and tough.
even though they had it obviously before in a machine called tenderizer / steaker to make meat softer. you could feel and see it because the beef looked "pinned" all over.
Some "chefs" use a tenderizer machine to be able to use meat from cheaper quality that would only be good for a soup and "transform" it into cookable "steak".
sauce and fries were good but that's not a challenge to deep-fry some fries...

We said nothing to a waiter, we were at that point not pissed etc. We were just "happy" to fill our stomachs with some food... because we had to wait so long and were so hungry.
the nice young waitress came self-paced to our table and apologised for the long waiting and brought us a Ramazotti for each person. this was a nice sign.

we ordered tea at her which was included in our fixed-menu.
Another 20 minutes later at 10:45pm one waiter told us in a very rude way that we have to leave the table and go inside. But we didn't even had the teas yet!
Tea came 5 minutes later and just as we had it the rude waiter came again and forced us to go now inside.
Astonishingly there were still other people sitting outside - 3 tables with 11 people.
when we left the restaurant 10 minutes later they were still sitting outside - why did we have to move inside then???

Inside we just wanted to finish our drinks, pay and leave,
but the rude waiter insisted on paying everything NOW because we had moved inside and we were sitting at another table. HE HAD TO CLOSE THE OUSIDE TABLE NOW, he was SHOUTING at us.
Well he forced us inside - it was not our idea to go inside!

His extremely rude behaviour made me stand up - He deeply insulted us.
Not only his behaviour also the food was in most parts literally a joke.
I was compelled to tell him that we had to wait for more than 2 hours just for our main dishes and now we didn't even had the time to finish our drinks outside because even those took a long time to eventually arrive.
He knew we were waiting so long for everything but still didn't care.

I asked him to be more polite and friendly to us. Especially because I was there with two ladies. We didn't even complain till now.
Then he shouted at me: I AM FRIENDLY - puh if that's his friendliness I'm looking forward to see him in a bad mood.
A lot of other guests could see his rude manners - something absolutely inacceptable in a restaurant but this is HIS business not mine.

Another time the nice young waitress came to us and apologized for her unbearable colleague.

We payed at her and even gave her a bit tip. Hopefully SHE and only SHE could keep it.
The red wine from Montepulciano was good.

So you see we gave here the most impartial feedback - even though we were treated in a very bad manner and the food was lousy.

the interesting thing was that we ordered also several wines, ramazotti etc while sitting so we were good customers.

In sum, apart from the nice waitress who tried hard, those guys ruined our evening with their "behaviour" and "food".

If I go to a restaurant I'll expect good homemade food that arrives within a certain time and a friendly service otherwise I'll better stay at home and cook myself for my guests.

waiter is extremely rude and food is lousy and an joke

This restaurant is significantly superior to its neighboring restaurants. Our group had soup, salad, pastas and pizza and everyone enjoyed. The service and wine recommendations were very good. We would definitely return, if we return to Amsterdam.

We had a fine fixed price dinner while working through jet lag. Service was nice at the start but we felt ignored/lost in the crowd as more customers filled in.

The area around Liedesplein is stuffed with restaurants of almost every nationality, the choice can be bewildering, especially when all you want is a quick meal. Antonios Italian Restaurant is typical of the breed. Run by an Italian family with a wide menu of pizzas, pastas and all your Italian food favourites.

Quantitiy is excellent although quality could be improved. Staff were very helpful and service was fast despite the restuarant being busy.
