We stayed there for 3 days. Friendly staff, great free beverage, good location, great wi-fi sinal, ok price.
The only problem was the stairs! No lift, just stairs for us 3 and 4 bags! It was hard, but didn't compromised our experience!
Oh, the walls were too thin, everytime someone knocked on a door i would answer our door cause it sounds like someone is knocking on you door, little scary... hahahaha
Good place to stay! will surely recommend it!

Room Tip: Make sure all the lamps are working!

English speaking staff only.
We had a large double overlooking canal and Hermitage.
Windows are single glass and walls are cardboard so bring earplugs.
Queensize Bed was very uncomfortable.
Bathroom reaked of cigarette smoke.
Children slept in a triple room. 3 beds cramped inside, an't fully open window. Entire room reaked of cigarette smoke.
Taking a shower requires acrobatic skills to manoever.

All in all hotel is very central, rather clean and in a safe location but I wouldn't recommend it for extended stays. Price is fair soo you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: 403 adaquate for 2 large double but rather small uncomphy queensize bed. Ceiling is on.y 2 metres hi...

The hotel was fairly decent, our large double room on the 3rd level had a nice outlook, was clean and as the name suggested generously sized. Close to the hermitage museum the hotel is also within walking reach of the centrum. I would recommend the large double on the 3rd level. We were initially put into a room on the 1st level but requested to move and were able to do so.

I would have given 4 stars but the only complaint we had was the confusion over the breakfast. Just to point it out on the Hotel Hermitage website, English version, under reservations is states when booking a large double room for 3 or more nights you will receive a one time free breakfast. We mentioned this to the receptionist who wasn't sure who then contacted the manager. He responded that no breakfast is ever given free?? Perhaps they are not aware it says this or it might be a translation error. Strange. The breakfast we paid for each day though was good, with a great coffee machine and friendly kitchen cat.

Overall a nice place to stay and recommended.

Room Tip: Large double 3rd level

Apart from the lack of an elevator, the hotel rooms were more than nice, comfortable and clean! Good location, coffee and tea 24h for free and free wi-fi! Value for money for sure! I suggest it undoubtly!

Absolutely recommended! Four strengths:
1) The cleanliness 2) The courtesy 3) The position 4) The free hot drinks to be consumed in the room. The hotel has the classic Dutch architectural appearance of the houses, and this makes it very fascinating! Cute cat owner's going to heat up the door of room 101! I will return!

This is officially the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have stayed in youth hostels better than this place. The rooms are extremely small and not suitable for anyone who is even the slightest bit claustrophobic or even close to 6ft tall. The staff are rude and dismissive and have no interest in dealing with complaints. Access to the rooms is via a narrow winding staircase that I can not believe complies with the fire regulations of a first world country. The owners claim the hotel was recently renovated and the rooms are equipped with "state of the art furniture and technology". This is correct if you consider peeling wallpaper, threadbare carpets, a TV screen smaller than an IPAD and a ceiling you hit your head off when you stand up state of the art. I was supposedly in a twin room, but the room was so narrow they had to stagger the beds so you could walk around them. If the room was more than 2meters wide I would be surprised. In summary, I would advise against anyone staying here, don't let the supposed central location fool you, you are not getting cheap and cheerful, you are getting cheap and very nasty.
