Crowded like all of Amsterdam, dirty water and sidewalks filled with trash and dog excrement. Safer to view from a canal boat ride.
We enjoyed several strolls along this canal. Our hotel was locked in the area so it made it perfect for us.
Great to sail down and even more so to sit at a cafe along it and have herring with onions, accompanied by a great Dutch beer
Beautiful canal lined with hotels, houses and restaurants. Quiet, safe and charming. Many restaurants from fancy to small, neighborhood cafes. Sidewalks are very narrow and bike traffic is heavy, although confined to the bike lanes, which are easy to mistake for sidewalks--beware!
This is what you think of when you hear about the city of Amsterdam. Beautiful canals, house boats, cafes, and historic building. A great "canal ring" to see from a boat and to walk around and enjoy a cup of coffee.
