Owner description: There is one bridge in Amsterdam’s central canal belt that gives a view of no less than 15 bridges. This unusual sight is found at the bridge crossing of the Reguliersgracht with the Herengracht, on the side with odd numbers. Standing on this bridge with your back to the Thorbeckeplein, you will see six arched bridges in a row. To the left you will find six more over the Herengracht and on the right you will see the next two. The 15th is the bridge you are standing on. It is particularly worth coming here at night as the bridges are illuminated giving one of the most beautiful and romantic views in Amsterdam.

I went a bit earlier than would probably have been best for the views. I walked there from Leidseplein Square. Overall it was pretty cool to snag some shots but I agree with others that night time may be better.

If you go too early on a summer evening the bridges won't be lit up yet and you probably won't even notice this unique view; but if you go late in the evening you could have this location all to yourself and can take your time gazing at the 15 bridges. Awesome!

To really appreciate this, you need to view it after dark, when you can see all the lights on the bridges. Most canal tours will point this out to you. During the day, it is still very picturesque and the area is nice.

I went in june and well got there around 930 it was still bright so no lights we hung around for a bit but still the weather was fantasic so i guess we never got the full effect of this place, it was fun working out all 15 bridges. and it was a quiey place nice to just sit and take some time out, but looking at the photos, try go when it is dark and the lights are on.

This spot and several nearby locations offer very interesting angles where multiple bridges can be seen simultaneously. The best angle appeared to me to be facing west looking across the nearest hotel with the double arched bridge to your left in frame and reflections of bridges visible in the water. The view seemed better when the lights had been turned on and the sun had just dropped below the horizon. (My GPS coords for the "classic shot": 52.365°N, 4.896°E. 8m below sea level, viewing 138° Magnetic North).

Shooting from the bridge deck maximizes reflections and the view under the bridge, though I liked the higher angles better.

I visited this spot two different evenings while I was there. Highly recommend for those travellers willing to tote a tripod or even a bean bag (for on deck shooting) in later twilight.
