While looking back on my visit at stay okay vondelpark, I would say that I was quite happy with the hostel. The hostel has free organic breakfast and a bar. Perfect location to walk around the park and easy accessibility to downtown Amsterdam. While I wasn't too happy with the prices, seemed like I was staying at a hotel(great view and room) and the fact that they charge you for towels. Overall a great place to stay and definitely would come back again

I spent just 1 night in this hostel, in a shared 6-bed dorm and to be honest, I was less than impressed. The beds were clearly on the cheap side, small and not particularly comfortable, supposedly with a lamp, which in my case didn't work. The dorm was generally lacking, but particularly electricity sockets, it had none! - when I asked about this they said it was because it's an old building - also, the toiled had it's own door but the place where the washing basin was didn't, which meant that whoever brushed his/her teeth first in the morning would wake up the entire room.

Due to the electricity sockets conundrum, the only option to charge your phone is either in the lobby or by asking the people at the reception, which was less than great, because my mobile is also my alarm clock, so I had to wait until it was charged to go to bed as I had to wake up early the next day.

Location wise is okay but not great, it's relatively close to the centre and you can definitely walk there, about 30 minutes.

I payed about 26€ which is not great but it isn't bad either. Now, when I checked in I was told that I had been very lucky to get that price, as beds usually went for 30€+ and some nights they could go up to 40€. So, if like me you manage to get something in this hostel in the 20-25€ range then it's okay, otherwise I suggest you look elsewhere.

so.. Hostel is in great location, it looks directly on Vondelpark, which is beautiful. Rooms are fine, facilities are clean... But, wifi is terrible and you need to pay for using internet on computer. They also charge using of their towels and secure storage for baggage. Also, there's no kitchen or common room, only loby, which is always overcrovded because eveyone is looking for wifi. I personally prefere smaller hostels, with more personal and friendly approach.

Rooms are roomy and ensuite. The evening meal and breakfast was very good value for money, well prepared and plenty of choice. Bar was good with average prices. Security is very good and the reception staff were helpfull and efficient. There is also secure storage for bikes.

A clean & tidy hostel in a good location.
Rooms were spacious so even with many bunks, it wasn't too stuffy or anything. And there was plenty of room for repacking my bag.

The breakfast provided is rather excellent so I didn't feel the need to eat out for breakfast.

It's tucked away from the main road so pretty quiet for a hostel.
And Vondelpark provides a nice walk or a lazy afternoon under the sun on a good day.

Stayed in this hostel for a couple of nights and enjoyed our stay. It was a great location with clean and comfortable rooms. The only things that I would warn travelers about is that they do not have towels included in the rooms, wifi only in the downstairs lobby, and no kitchen available for the guests. It is also a little more expensive than most hostels and felt more like a hotel than a hostel. If you are traveling by yourself it is a great place to meet other young travelers though!

As if paying around €40 a night to sleep in a dorm, this hostel is a classic case of overpaying for a subpar hostel. The facilities are decent but nowhere worth the price. As if it wasn't already expensive enough, towels cost money as does using the computers. About the only affordable thing in the hostel is the luggage storage, but what type of hostel makes you pay for luggage storage? Would not stay here again

Dear ofriedm,
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Amsterdam is a very popular city in July & August. Our pricing is comparable to similar hostels in the area and we feel we provide good value given our central location and extensive facilities.
We regret that this was not your impression and offer our apologies.
