It was extremely expensive (40 Euro) and cleanliness was very limited in the rooms. The idea of having a wash basin in the room is pretty annoying as people sleeping the room are disturbed when others are using it. I was also tricked into getting the hostel card. I don't think I will be using it anytime in the future. I don't recommend it to backpackers as it is not budget friendly.I spoke to other travelers around and they told me there are better ones out there.

Very clean, only problem elevator was out in building A where kitchen/breakfast was served,; had 4 flights to walk up, when asked desk people about the elevator all they would do was smirk, so I had the feeling it was an on-going problem, no ADA concerns there. Bathrooms are in rooms, comfortable otherwise. In one of the most exclusive areas of city. Across the street from Casino and Hard Rock, easy transportation in area, walk to museum campus.

The location is just brilliant - a ten minute walk from Leidse Square on one side and the Rijksmuseum on the other. The place was very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful despite being very unobtrusive, and the whole place had a very positive vibe to it.

Better quality beds/food/service than in most hotels I've stayed - very organised & friendly place. Bedding is fresh, crisp, folded & sealed in cellophane on each mattress. Showers are clean with hot water. Was a bit worried about room sharing but there's some kind of tacit respect among sharers - staff clearly have good strategy when grouping individuals.

Roomy breakfast cafeteria has efficient staff serving cold sliced meats, boiled eggs, cereals, breads, cheese, nuts, fruit juices, tea, coffee, sweets & yogurts. You can rent pushbikes with a deposit. I arrived before my room was ready at 2pm and stored cabin luggage in a large, deep locker for 2 euro all day in the lounge. Cheap alcohol in bar with 50-inch plasma. You're allowed light snacks in room but not hot or noisy food. Elevators serving the different floors & there's no curfew.

Bring a padlock, soapbar and towel plus I'd advise an elastic band to hold room locker key to wrist when washing/sleeping. Hostel is in safe, well populated park area - nothing to worry about. Paid 15 euro a night (3 nights) & it's amazing but Stayokay is quite a distance from the real nitty gritty of Amsterdam's bustling centre. You WILL need to use trams or bikes or something to move about daily unless you're a very keen walker with good shoes!

Room Tip: I was in Block B (very good) - cannot speak for other blocks/areas but everyone else seemed happy.

this was my first time in amsterdam and im used to staying in 4 plus star hotels abroad so i was a bit skeptical, but i was pleasantly surprised.

the location was a bit far away from the main town but only a 15 min walk or quick tram ride. Tram journey to the station however, but also located near melkweg club which was a plus.
rooms were clean, comfy beds, questionable texture of the sheets but if your just spending all day in the city it is the perfect place to rest your head.
we had private shower and toilets which was great and cupboards that had locks (bring your own lock).
breakfast was great, very European no cooked breakfast but plenty of cereal, bread, boiled egg, ham etc.
cant smoke in the rooms but has vondel park right next door so that was great and comfy reception area as you have to check out at 10 or 11am and you can rest/sleep there if you dont have to go home straight away! and 24hr entry.

overall very good, a bit pricey but it comes with the quality you get, one of the much better hostels.

Room Tip: bring your own locks!

Had a great stay here, the breakfast was good, and the rooms were nice. A very friendly atmosphere and the park right next door is beyond beautiful. My friend claimed he could stay there all day just lounging - super relaxing! They give you fresh sheets and everything is clean. I would def stay here again.
