The best thing that West Side Inn has is its staff. The front desk staff was always nice and did a good job with the long lines in the lobby. I was surprised that my ID wasn't checked when I checked in. That was alarming. The TV and air condition didn't work in the room. The room itself wasn't too bad, the mattresses seemed new, clean sheets and the furniture was in good condition. However, the bathroom was disgusting. The tiles in the shower were covered in mildew. The front of the hotel looked like a jungle. The grass and flowers were growing wildly and it looked more like an abandoned house than a hotel. To be fair, the hotel was £33 a night, so I didn't expect much. However, I do think that guests deserve clean bathrooms, regardless of price. Another good thing is the proximity to the city center. A five minute walk to the tram and then about fifteen minutes on the tram to the center.
