A city trip simply is not complete without a visit to the building that seamlessly combines history and current affairs. Whether you enjoy a tasty lunch or dinner at Bistro Berlage, participate in an exciting escape room by Sherlocked, have a drink in the New York Film Academy Café, make your own chocolate bar at the Tony's Chocolonely super store, let yourself be overwhelmed at one of our exhibitions or visit a sparkling event. The Exhibition was great. Once I saw the display at the Beurs Van Berlage about the exhibition, I knew I had to visit it. And I was impressed by the displayed scientific genius of the man. There were few paintings, most of the exhibition is about the scientist and the inventor Leonardo da Vinci. There was a movie as well, that summed up his life in an interesting way. I enjoyed my stay.
But I was disappointed by their audio-guide system. They have a smartphone based audio-guide, which is not very practical. In today’s world as well, you can have a phone that is not a smartphone, secondly the app may not work as it did not on my smartphone and another customer’s i-phone.
The phone is essential when you are travelling. The smartphones have poor battery life and you don’t want to use the precious battery while using it as an audioguide in a museum!

We stopped for a coffee and enjoyed the painted walls - there are also nice outdoor tables where you can enjoy the sunlight - vast choice also for brunch if you want!

We went for the lunch to the grand cafe. They have a lovely terrace with the sun shining on your face. We ordered a burger and a ceaser salad. The food is really nice but the service can be more attentive.

Lovely old building with pretty mosaics on the walls, though some of the cheesy pop music clashed a little. The food was nice and portions filling (good chips too), but frankly overpriced - the cappuccino and sandwich offerings were average at best, and they'll charge you 19 euros for a burger that's nothing too special.
