“Fantastic fresh food, excellent value for money”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

This delightful cafe on the corner of Herengracht, overlooking the quiet canal, is a wonderful place to dawdle over excellent and organic freshly cooked food - and at a cheap price for Amsterdam. The decor is relaxed and bohemian. Breakfast consisting of freshly squeezed orange juice, a croissant with butter and selection of jams (or lemon curd - delicious), tea or coffee was just 6.95 euros. At lunch time, freshly made soups such as Thai curry or spicy pumpkin, artisan, wholemeal breads and the most mouth watering ravioli I have ever tasted cost just 6.95 euros and 10.95 euros respectively. The service is prompt, efficient, friendly and totally oriented to the customer. We didn't find better in Amsterdam.

“What a wonderful cafe/bistro”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

This is the first time I've made the effort to submit a review but am doing so because we wwere enchanted with this cafe. This delightful cafe has everything: excellent imaginative food, friendly helpful staff and a lovely quiet setting by a canal and bridge. In addition, the food is great value for money. Whether its breakfast, coffe, lunch or tea you're after, head here. You won't be disappiointed. Best place we found in Amsterdam on a recent holiday there.

“Fabulous and charming”
Reviewed March 25, 2012

This is a fabulous little cafe offering a good selection of drinks and foods for lunch. There is seating in side and out but this is a small place so becomes full easily. The staf are very friendly and attentive and you just take your time - nothing is too much trouble. Off Herengracht you can really soak up the atmosphere of Amsterdam, people watching as the many cyclists go by and boats along the canal. Plus Herengracht is a lovely street in Amsterdam and links with the famous 9 streets for shopping.

The sandwiches here are presented on boards - the latest trend for eating in many places in the UK too. We were given free tasters of pumpkin soup too.
The cakes were fabulous and fresh too, my husband overindulged in treacle cake with cream and the slice was immense!

Teas are fresh as is the norm in Amsterdam, try the mint tea - as fresh as it gets!
Coffees are excellent too. A few wines are on offer by the glass.

The price is good for cafes in this area and this is a truly fab little place. Highly recommended.
