We booked seats and a bottle of a wine for this comedy show but were left disappointed.

The theatre was more like a school show with little chairs in rows and a slightly raised stage area. Not how we expected with cosy sofas in most comedy shows.
Our wine was left to go warm behind the reception desk. The seats we 'reserved' was not reserved at all - it was just a free for all when the doors opened.

The comedians themselves were friendly and confident but most of the jokes fell flat in our opinion. Improv didn't pay off this time.

The lobby downstairs was very nice however with comfortable seats and a swanky bar.

Overall it was good for an alternative night out but would not visit this particular show again.

Very impressed by the cast of 6 who did the improve show. Theatre is JUST the right size (I'd say about 65 people?) and easy to get to via tram. Good value for money on show tickets and drinks too. Definitely worth a visit!

Good enough show .... However VIPs set up as part of the acts which was quite obvious .... Host bloke made a wee boob and swore with F word with kids watching ..... Oops !!!! .... Still pisses about those complimentary drinks even though we have just bought two bottles of Pinot and a few ciders ..... Don't think we will return now as I hate false claims (Booked through Viator) !!!!

There are some good reviews about Boom Chicago and some bad reviews. I want to be fair, but balanced.

We went to the Sunday Night Improvisation show. There were about 50-70 people present.

Unfortunately, the venue has the feel of a student bar, rather than a serious theatrical presentation. That said, if you like improvisation (which I do) and are under a certain age, or recently left university you may like that feel.

The actors, British and American are talented and work hard and presenting funny and amusing skits. They control these well and they finish at very appropriate times in the presentation and move on to another topic. However, occasionally it feels like the actors find the skits funnier than the audience. They may not be aware of this, but from the audience this is very obvious.

There is a distinct difference between being cleverly funny and witty and shouting and being noisy trying to be funny. That difference was clearly seen in the different presentations. To often, the American participants were loud and noisy in the hope of being funny. The two British actors however were quietly clever in their delivery bringing laughs much more easily to the audience.

We were disappointed really, and left after the first break. In short, if you are a student, slightly inebriated or like your humour easily understood and delivered on a plate then this is the venue for you. If, however, you like clever humour that needs to be thought about and subtly delivered you may be wasting your money.

Great place with nice idea of drinking and experiencing comedy at the same time! FaceTime your fears were a funny show with interaction with audience. We liked it!

A very interesting place to go in Amsterdam. It's like an improv theater with a venue along the lines of "Whose Line Is It Anyway/".

We hired the Upstairs Theater for an event we organized for Leisure & Events Management. The theater was perfect, very beautiful and user friendly. Very happy to work with Boom Chicago!

I went here with my colleagues for the show FaceTime your Fears. We had all great hopes for this show, but unfortunately it wasn't as fun as we hoped it to be. It felt scripted and almost no one there really laughed at those jokes. We left at the interval.

I hate to write bad reviews. :(
